Time can vastly vary from planet to planet in Starfield. That is why the missions that the tied to time in Starfield can sometimes be very confusing. The same is the case for the mission “The Great Laredo Caper“. You get the mission from Annie Wilcox, who is the daughter of Emma Wilcox. She is a “Ranger Surveillance Assistant” at the Akila City, and she tells you that a Thief has been stealing Arms from Laredo Arms at Midnight. Hesitant at first, you still decide to take on the mission. Your objective gets updated to “Apprehend the Laredo Arms Thief at Midnight“. Now, if you are already checking this mission while Midnight is over Akila City, you can just follow the waypoint, and you will find the Thief at the designated location. But if you are trying to do the mission during the Day, you won’t find anything when you visit the location. You will have to do wait till Midnight in order to get hold of the thief. But the question is when is midnight?
When is Midnight in Akila City
The first thing you need to do is find somewhere to sit where you can skip time. Laredo Arms is just nearby, and there is a Sofa there. Go there, sit, and wait.
Now, when I started this mission, it was 16:13 Local Time in Akila City, and it was still day. So I decided to wait for 7 Local Hours. When I was done, it was 23:13 Local Time and 23:33 UT. I immediately got up and went back to the location on the waypoint, found the Thief trying to sneak, and the mission got updated to “Confront the Thief Suspect”. So, for example, if the current time for you while doing this mission is 12:00 Local Time, wait for 11 Local Hours.
Once you have followed all the instructions, and caught the Thief, an Akila City Security Guard will arrive and arrest the Thief. After that, just “Report back to Annie Wilcox”. You will have a chat with Annie and Emma at the bar, and you will successfully complete the mission after that. At the end of the mission you will get 3300 Credits.
