How to Remove Gem from Socket in Diablo 4

If you are a Diablo fan, then we’re pretty sure you are familiar with the importance of gems in the series’ latest Diablo 4, which has made a return. Gems are small upgrade items that players can add to their existing gear and help provide quite useful effects in the game.

However, these change depending on where a player decides to put them. Now, to add any gem to a piece of your gear, the gear needs to have sockets, as this is where you add the gems. While players on their own can do socketing gems on gear pieces, players will have to visit a Jeweler to remove them.

So, to get the desired build in the game, players need to know how this system works. So, to help you, here is a detailed guide on removing Gem from Socket in Diablo 4. Keep reading!

How to Remove Gem from Socket in Diablo 4

How to Unsocket Gems in Diablo 4?

Knowing how you remove a gem from a gear piece is as important as knowing how to socket them. As previously mentioned, players need to visit a Jeweler to do this. Jewelers are the NPCs in the game that players can find in the town hub. They are designated on the minimap with the gem icon.

However, note that Jewelers become available to the players later in the game after reaching a certain level. When this is done, they need to head to the Jeweler. They must open the second tab on the left to ‘unsocket’.

Then, players need to select the gear that they want to unsocket. Upon doing so, in exchange for some gold, the Jeweler will remove the gem from the gear piece for you. Remember that you will be charged more gold as the item’s rarity rises.

An alternate way of removing gems from a socket of a gear piece in the game is by visiting the blacksmith and salvaging it. However, the item gets destroyed in this process, so remember to do this only when you no longer need the item.

How to Craft Gems in Diablo 4?

You can combine the lower-tier gems and craft them into the higher-tier variants in Diablo 4. It is impossible to craft a gem from anything other than gems; you can upgrade them, and you will need some of them on you. You require three gems from the previous tier and a small amount of gold. When you have the required items, head to any jeweler, and from the menu, select the first tab on the left. If you have the items required to craft gems, then the option for doing so will be present.

That pretty much sums up all that there is to know about how to remove the gem from a socket in Diablo 4.
