How to Remove/Cure Bane in Baldur’s Gate 3

In the game, you have the following two options to cure/remove Bane:

  • Long Rest: This is the most straightforward way: simply resting at your campsite. To begin this rest, you need to interact with the bedroll.
  • Remove Curse Spell: At level 5, this option is available to Warlocks, Wizards, and Clerics and is a level 3rd Abjuration Spell which instantly removes the curse of Bane.

Even though Remove Curse quickly removes Bane and conserves your spell slot, the easier way is to take a long rest.

Cause of Bane Status Effect in BG3

In the game, two potential causes can cause Bane to you, they are:

  1. Without the Mark of Absolute, equipping the Gloves of Power.
  2. Without the Mark of Absolute, cast the Absolute Protection using the Absolute Warboard.

As evident, the key is the Mark of Absolute. This helps prevent Bane from being applied to you when you are using items that are Absolute related. When you, or if you use these items with the brand, then you will keep inflicting yourself with this Status Effect.

However, if the Mark is applied, you can safely use the Absolute items without the fear of Bane. Make use of the methods stated above to remove Bane.
