Far Cry 6 finally got released on all platforms, and we have to say that the game has managed to garner some wonderful reviews. Which includes an 8 out of 10 from IGN. But that doesn’t stop the game from having various bugs and errors.
Don’t get me wrong, Far Cry 6 is an awesome game. It is just the technical side of the game, that needs some work. The game has its fair share of issues, and the Ubisoft Far Cry 6 forums are slowly getting filled with posts regarding these issues.
In this article, we are taking a look at another error that has surfaced recently. It looks like, a lot of PC users are getting an error message, whenever they are trying to play Far Cry 6. The error says: Your GPU may not be compatible with the game or your driver version is outdated.
Now, this is understandable in case of users who are using Windows 7 or 8.1 instead of Windows 10. As Windows 10 is mandatory for Far Cry 6. But unfortunately, a lot of Windows 10 users are also getting this error. Check out this post from a forum user:

How to fix this error
I know a lot of you are not going to like this fix. But the truth is, it is the only one that works. You can easily fix this error by updating your OS to the latest version of Windows 10. Yes, that is the only way. If you have Windows 10 64-bit installed, then just update it to the latest version. If you are using Window 7 or 8.1, then you have no other choice but to upgrade your OS to Windows 10. Here is how to do it:
- Go to your Windows Settings
- Click on Update & Security
- Click on Check for updates
- Wait until all the updates are installed
- Restart your PC
Update your OS, and then update your video drivers to the latest version. The v471.12 Nvidia is not the latest driver anymore, by the way. There is a new one available. I am using Windows 10 Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.1237) on all 4 of my PCs. And I haven’t encountered this problem on any one of them.
People have actually confirmed that just updating their OS, did the job for them. You will find plenty of comments like these:
