Far Cry 6 blurry – Is Far Cry 6 PC appearing to be blurry for you? Here is how to fix it.
Some players are experiencing Blurry and Washed Out textures in Far Cry 5 PC
Far Cry 6 finally got released on all platforms, and we have to say that the game has managed to garner some wonderful reviews. Which includes an 8 out of 10 from IGN. But that doesn’t stop the game from having various bugs and errors.
Far Cry 6 is stuffed with bugs and glitches at the moment, with more popping up every hour. Don’t get me wrong, it is an awesome game, no doubt on that. But players tend to soak in the overall experience. Not just a few specific elements.
A lot of PC users are complaining that Far Cry 6 is appearing to be blurry and washed out for them. And the problem doesn’t go away even with all the video settings set to the highest possible quality. Check out this post from a forum user:
Some of the texture mapping in the game is blurry.
The gun textures are blurry, as well as the alligator, saddle or clothes, and judging by the feedback from the community, I’m not alone.
I have tried restarting the game or returning to the main menu and then re-entering into the game but it doesn’t work. Even with the HD texture pack installed.
Is there any solution to this?
To which another user replied:
Same here and I’m really disappointed. Running the game at 4k with HD textures expecting a beautiful game, but some textures are not only ‘not’ HD, but they’re Playstation 1 bad! Examples are the first body armor you find, the alligator, the first backpack with the rockets you get.
Now the question is, if maxing out the video settings doesn’t help, then what will?
How to fix the blurry textures in Far Cry 6
The good news is, there is a fix available for this, and it has been proven to be working by many users. In order to fix the blurry textures or graphics, all you need to do is disable ‘HD Textures’. As strange as it might sound, it is the only fix for this.
I have tested the fix myself, and I can guarantee that the HD Textures are causing this bug. Let me show you the proof.
This image is showing Far Cry 6, running on maxed out settings, with HD Textures enabled:
And this image is showing Far Cry 6 running on the exact same settings, but with HD Textures disabled:
If you ask me, this is kind of funny. The HD Textures require 37 GB extra download, and extra VRAM as well. In return, you get blurry graphics. Anyway, it is, what it is.

I dont play with HD textures on and I still have this issue.
I don’t even have the HD Textures installed and have this issue.
You’re wrong. These blurry texture issues persist with and without the HD texture pack. Check the Ubisoft forums and update your article.
The proof is right in front of you.
I play Far Cry 6 on PC with a 2080 Super and had the same issues, a lot of low res textures, even at 4k with everything on Ultra.
I got it solved only after I completely uninstalled HD texture pack… in my case simply disabling it doesn’t do anything.
It looks to me like this HD pack lowers the normal textures in order to apply the upgraded textures. But because the graphics card doesn’t have 11GB of Vram, it never loads the HD textures, even if you enable the option, or lower your other settings, so you’re left with the low res textures. And you can’t revert back to the original textures unless you uninstall the pack completely – a bug it seems. It’s all just a guess, I’m no expert, but there you go, it worked for me at least, when no other solutions did.
