Dragon Ball Z (DBZ) Kakarot – How to change language

Wondering how to change the language in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot? Here is how to do it.

Dragon Ball Z (DBZ) Kakarot – How to change language

A lot users are actually complaining that the in-game language of DBZ Kakarot is set to English by default. All the subtitles, speeches and voices are in English Language. And that they are unable to find an option or setting to change it.

Well it looks like there is an option to change the language. Maybe people are unable to find it because it doesn’t say anything about language directly.

How to change language in DBZ Kakarot

In order to change the Language all you have to do is:

  • Launch the game
  • Go to Options
  • Scroll down under Game Settings
  • Look for the option called Voices
  • Change it to your desired language

But there is a problem. I am not sure whether the issue is with me or anybody else is facing the same problem. The Voices setting is showing just two options. English and Japanese. I tried looking again and again but couldn’t find any other language.

I also looked up the GameUserSettings.ini configuration file, but there is no option to change language there as well. Also if you change your language to Japanese, the subtitles will still continue to appear in English language.

If this is really not a bug or a glitch then I have to say this is one of the most sloppiest PC ports I have ever seen. I really hope that the developers address this issue as this would end up being a deal breaker for a lot of players.

  1. You need to find the file “steam_emu.ini” and change the line “Language” to whatever you want (french, portuguese, german, english). This will change the display/interface and subtitles language
