What is Fear Status Effect in Diablo 4
Fear in Diablo 4

Fear is a status effect that prevents the enemies from taking action and moving, and it causes the target, which is afflicted with it for a short duration, to run away. However, there are ways in the game through which players can remove this. Fear is a crowd control effect, although it does not affect the bosses.

The main concept of this crowd control effect is that it sends the enemy affected by it to run in horror, cannot perform any of the action in the game, and is away from the fearsome object or the caster.

This effect immobilizes and corners the enemy, and the ones that can’t flee any farther, stand idle being paralyzed. Remember that Fear only prevents the use of active skills and attacks, and all of the other effects will continue working as usual. Further, some skills can still be used while Feared.

Avoiding Fear in Diablo 4

Watch out for the AoEs

Most enemies that can inflict fear do it by telegraphing large pentagram AoEs close to the players, so we suggest that you keep a good distance from them so they go off to avoid being feared. Currently, there are no fear-related Skills or Aspects in the game.

That pretty much sums up all that there is to know about What is Fear in Diablo 4.
