Spaw Vs Glut – Who to pick in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Spaw Vs Glut BG3 – If you’ve started playing Baldur’s Gate 3, and it’s been a while since, you must’ve either arrived at a crossroads where you’ll be required to choose between Glut and Spaw, or you must’ve already made a decision.

Well, this decision is quite an important part of the game as it determines the story ahead, and with that being said, we will try and guide you to our best knowledge of whom you should pick in Baldur’s Gate 3. Keep reading!

Spaw Vs Glut – Who to pick in Baldur’s Gate 3?

When you begin your journey, the Myconid will get help from an entire colony, and even so, Spaw is made the elected representative for the colony. While that’s pretty straightforward, eventually, it appears that everything isn’t as stable as it was supposed to be, and this is part of the storyline where Glut steps in, trying to claim new leadership of the colony.

Following the same, the players will be asked to side with either Spaw or Glut, and this is a decision that must be made by considering all options given the benefits they provide; down below, we’ll be comparing the benefits of siding with Spaw as well as Glut individually to provide you with a better perspective-

Siding with Glut

Siding with Glut

If you were to side with Glut, you’d need to go against the entire colony, as once you’ve attacked Spaw, the entire colony will turn hostile towards you. Further, this point leads to the end of Myconids in the game. If you’re looking for a more evil-vengeance-aligned campaign is where you should be going with this pick. You’ll be required to kill Spaw and the rest of the colony as a mission, Karlach and Lae’zel will disapprove, but Astarian will approve, and finally, the questline will end with all other colonists.

Siding with Spaw

Siding with Spaw will lead you to a much more balanced type of story where you will be required only to kill Glut; here, Astarian will disapprove, while Lae’zel and Karlach approve. All of this and the theory that siding with Spaw will get you, as a player, some extra loot due to the secret area revelation. However, the same can be done both ways, given you’ve got a Potion of Invisibility or Misty Step.

If you’re looking for a balanced story and the benefit of levelling up faster than you normally would, we recommend that you side with Spaw as he goes up against Duergar. Further, Spaw, Thulla, Omeluum and the merchant are always good to have around. With this story, you’d be saving the Myconids!

We hope that we were able to put from a new perspective, and that’s everything you need to know about whom to pick in Baldur’s Gate 3- Spaw or Glut.
