Iron Flask in Baldur's Gate 3 - What to do with it

What to do with Iron Flask in Baldur’s Gate 3?

You can do three things with the Iron flask in Baldur’s Gate 3, which you can get in the game’s sidequest. Let us have a look at all of them:

Open it: Release a Spectator

When you examine the Iron Flask through an Intelligence check (DC 10), you will find that it is, in fact, a magical artefact that is capable of both trapping and holding inside a creature. Removing the stopper from this Iron Flask will unleash a quite powerful creature named ‘Spectator’. Being a level 5, this creature has a beefed-up HP, too, of 95.

It does not drop anything essential upon being eliminated, but still, you receive a good amount of experience.

Deliver it to Zarys

Alternatively, you can give the flask to Zarys at the Zhentarim hideout at Waukeen’s Rest. However, ensure the flask is inside the chest, and you have not opened the chest. Or else, she will notice that you have taken a peek, which will turn everyone in the hideout hostile.

When you deliver the flask properly to her, without peeking, you get rewarded with ‘Harold’, a unique crossbow. Moreover, you also get access to an improved stock from the hideout’s merchant.

Throw it on the enemies

Throwing the Iron Flask on the enemies will deal some damage to them and will also start a battle. However, doing this will also summon the Spectator and drag the spectator into the fight.

How to get the Iron Flask in Baldur’s Gate 3

In a Locked Chest in a Cave(North of Risen Road)

You can find the Iron Flask inside a locked chest in a cave(X: 36, Y: 626) on the northern part of the Risen Road and towards the east of Waukeen’s Rest.

This cave is also where you will find Rugam and Olly hiding from the Gnolls during the ‘Find the missing Shipment’.

Within the area, after defeating the Gnolls, you either go through with Rugan a series of dialogue checks or eliminate both him and his partner to then head to retrieve the chest.

That pretty much sums up all that there is to know about Iron Flask in Baldur’s Gate 3 – What to do with it.
