Fix Owlbear Cub Bug in Baldur’s Gate 3

Fix Owlbear Cub Bug – What truly makes the game Baldur’s Gate 3 unique is that you can recruit companions into your camp, and to our surprise, they carry their weights. There’s a number of them to choose from in the game, but at the same time, there’s a special companion that won’t appear at your camp once you’ve rescued it from the Goblin Camp in Act 1, which would take place conventionally, rather, it takes time for it to appear.

The companion we’re talking about is the Owlbear Cub, and in this article, we’ll be guiding you with the Owlbear Cub Bug in Baldur’s Gate 3. Keep reading!

The game has two Owlbear Cubs that you could choose between and adopt. However, adopting the one in Goblin Camp would be more convenient overall. You’ll encounter the Owlbear Cub when you’re on the quest to rescue the first Druid, Halsin. If you manage to get through the maze by passing with all the proper skill checks, you’ll be able to give the Cub your scent, following which the Cub will follow you back to your camp. This process, however, takes time, and the Cub won’t just follow you the very next second.

Now, the bug?

So there’s no such bug. However, you might be questioning why the Cub isn’t appearing at your camp even though you’ve given it your scent, and the answer to this is quite simple- It’ll take time! The Cub will take its time to ensure you aren’t a threat. Further, it’ll take several long rests before he gets to you. Eventually, when the cub does appear, there are a few things that you’ll need to be careful with so that it sticks around, and that is that the Cub will be scared and distant the first day it appears in your camp. All you need to do then is offer the Cub food and pass all the skill checks.

Eventually, the Cub will begin to trust you. Another thing you can do to make sure that this happens is offer the Cub food by letting it nibble the same from your hands rather than throwing food at it. Further, once you’ve done so, a certain party member from your camp will start a random conversation with you which will scare the Cub off, and if so happens, don’t worry, as it’s a part of it. The Cub will return eventually; you only need to treat it well, and it’ll stick around.

There are so many more options in the game that you could also recruit, such as Scratch the dog- a canine companion, Withers and some others, so while you wait around for the Owlbear Cub, make the most out of the time by recruiting some more companions!

With that said, that’s everything that you need to know about the Owlbear Cub in Baldur’s Gate 3.
