Unlock Glider in Zelda TOTK – Grab hold of the Paraglider in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom if you want to glide your way across the skies of the game. A link has been given a new ability by the game in the Legend Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, called ‘Ascend’. So does this mean that now you will not get the Paraglider? If you are wondering, then worry not.
You can make use of Ascend to climb the mountains quickly. Given that it has a cave. The Paraglider also has its use inside the cave. Considering how huge the world of TotK appears to be, not giving this feature to the game would’ve been nothing less than a crime.
So, if you want to unlock and try your hands on the Glider in the new Zelda’s Tears of the Kingdom, keep reading the guide below!
How to get Glider in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
At the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower, you unlock the Paraglider after you talk to Purah. You will get this early in the game, so do not worry. However, you must complete a few main quests to get it. Here’s what you have to do for it:
- For the ‘Crisis at Hyrule Castle’ objective, go to Hyrule Castle.
- Do make sure of the fact that you have activated the first shrine you encounter, as you can use it later for Fast Travelling. You need to activate it; there is no need to complete the shrine.
- Then, head over to the First Gatehouse.
- Now from here, make your way to the top of the Gatehouse. Here you will find two guards in the search for someone/something. Your location should be around: 0336,0848,0133.
- Here, it would be best if you conversed with Captain Hoz.
- A cutscene should prompt, following which you must head to the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower.
- Converse with Purah; upon doing so, she will activate the Tower. You will observe the tower shooting flares in the sky.
- Now, on top of the Terminal, use your Purah pad.
- Doing so will unlock for you the Tower’s Fast travelling point. This will unlock the Paraglider for you.
The default settings of the Paraglider are such that you get the Purple sailcloth. However, this can be customized with various designs.
How can you use a Paraglider in Zelda’s Tears of the Kingdom
When you are in mid-air, you need to press the X button (jump button) on your controller to use the Paraglider and start gliding. Note that you cannot use it while on the ground. Still, the Glider certainly comes in handy when you are at a higher elevated place.
From the high ground, you need to jump and press X. Or; you can also stand under the updrafts and take off to the sky, just double jump. Although no updrafts are available, you can set fire to the ground. This can be done on open grounds (with lots of grass) using any fire weapon you might have in your Arsenal.
