Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty DLC allows players to explore a new story with new districts and much more! Accessing new content can prove to be a little unclear for a few. Note that the base game has to be purchased even though the update is out for everyone. So before you read this guide, make sure you have both bought the DLC and installed it. The information will only apply to the ones who have done it.
How do you play Phantom Liberty DLC in Cyberpunk 2077
By far, the easiest and simplest way to start/play the Phantom Liberty DLC is to start a new game and select ‘Skip Ahead to Phantom Liberty’. Doing this will enable you to play the first mission of the DLC ‘Dog Eat Dog’ and get a summary of the events (these are the ones that Johnny Silverhand has skipped).
This option, when pursued, makes you start with a character with Level 15 who has access to some Cyberware and a variety of Uncommon Weapons of Tier 2, too! This also comes with the character’s attributes and pre-allocated perk points. This enables you to get started in the game without further adieu. The players who want to build their character can reset the perk points and attributes when loaded into the game.
The alternate way is to start using the base game till you have completed the Transmission mission. The mission of Act 2 is the conclusion of your business(the Voodoo Boys). If you skip the optional content and rush, you can easily finish the primary storyline within 11 hours.
Talking about which of the two is the better option is subject to the player’s choice. The players who want to get to the Phantom Liberty DLC would simply be rushing the game, so they might consider reading a recap online to get to know the preceding events. However, those who want to immerse themselves in the story and adjust to the gameplay systems should take the longer path.
