There are different restrictions for different types of items. These are as follows
- Armor – Armor includes the headgear, chest gear, boots, and you can carry up to 64 items of clothing at a time in your inventory.
- Weapons – Weapons includes both melee and ranged, and you can carry up to 24 weapons at a time in your inventory
- Accessories – Accessories includes throwing knives and Molotov cocktails, and you can carry up to 16 items at a time in your inventory.
- Consumables – Consumables includes medicines (both rare and common ones) and you can carry up to 16 items at a time in your inventory
- Ammunition – Ammunition includes arrows, and you can have 8 slots for your use.
- Crafting – For Crafting pieces, the inventory can hold a total of 999 pieces.
Removing items by disposing
You can dispose of your unwanted items if you have encountered a better quality weapon/consumable and quickly empty your inventory to make space for the new one.
Consuming after Crafting
Rather than storing the crafting ingredients, you can also spend those on crafting new weapons or consumables. Please do keep in mind you also need to find blueprints as many as possible so that whatever ingredient you are carrying can be spent on crafting a weapon or item.
Stashing Items
One of the best methods of storing items that you intend to use later on in the game is by stashing. You can store different clothing, different epic weapons that you want to save for the larger infected battle in the future. A stash is best for storing items, and it is present in all the safe houses or bases. It is usually kept just beside your bed. Keep in mind all the stashes are separate, you make sure that to pick up specific items you will have to return to the same stash.
Selling Items
The last and fastest way to get rid of unwanted valuables is by selling them. It’s as simple as visiting a trader and selling off your unused items. The price which the trader pays depends upon the level and the rarity of the item.
