Dragon’s Dogma 2: How to start a New Game and delete Save Data on PC

If you wish to start with a completely new game, it’s better to save a backup of your progressions and start with a new Game. But this might not be as straightforward as you think it would be. So, in this article, I will guide you in deleting the previously saved data and starting with a new game on Dragon’s Dogma 2 PC.

How to Start a New Game in Dragon’s Dogma 2 PC

We will discuss the steps you should take to start a new game on Dragon’s Dogma 2 PC.

Delete Save Files from Steam Folder

To delete Dragon’s Dogma 2’s existing save files, you only need to go to the Steam folder where the game is installed. You will find it under Steam Folder > Userdata > User ID. You can retrieve the Game ID, which can be found on the Store page URL. To make it easier, the ID for Dragon’s Dogma 2 is 2054970.

Delete the 2054970 Folder, but back up it if anything goes wrong. If you have multiple IDs inside the Userdata Folder, then make sure you delete the one that has been recently modified by altering the date filter.

Disable the Steam Cloud

Find the game and right-click on the Properties. From the General Settings option, turn off the Steam Cloud; otherwise, Steam will replace the deleted Save file with the one stored on the Cloud.

Start New Game

Once you are done, launch the game, and you will be able to see the Start Game option again as soon as you get to the main menu.

Trigger the Autosave

Trigger and Autosave after creating and finalizing your Arisen. You can confirm Autosave as a circle in the top right corner of the screen will indicate it. As it finishes Saving, close the game.

Re-enable the Steam Cloud

Once you finish that, open Steam again and enable the Steam Cloud Option by going to Properties, as mentioned earlier, and close any popups that appear.

Overwrite Cloud Saves

When you relaunch the game, you will encounter a Cloud Conflict pop-up. Select the option Local Save and click on Continue. This will overwrite the older save on the Steam Cloud.

How to Delete Cloud Saves in Dragon’s Dogma 2 PC & Xbox

Remember that Steam doesn’t allow you to delete cloud saves directly, and you can only overwrite the saved file stored on the cloud with the one you have newly created on your PC.

However, if you play on the Xbox Console, Cloud save Files can be quickly deleted. Just clicking on the option “Delete Everywhere” when prompted will delete every save that you have stored on the Cloud.

So that was all about starting a new game in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
