Mods are one of the major advantages of PC gaming, and we are interested to know whether Enshrouded supports modding or not. Open World Games like these provide great sandboxes for the modders to have fun with. Games like Minecraft and Terraria are our personal favorites that received a ton of mods, which makes it much more fun and interesting to play. So in this article, we will talk about whether Enshrouded will have support for the mods or not.
Does Enshrouded Support Mods?
Keen Games has been very clear from the start that the mod support for Enshrouded is something that they are particularly not sure of. They stated on their official Discord channel that they cannot guarantee Mod support for Enshrouded but it is something that they might consider in the future.
“There are no questains that mods are what makes a game truely great, but at this Stage, we cannot make promises that game will be moddable”
They further added that using that the game is using their very own custom engine and that means that they have to develop their very own tools to make mods work properly with Enshrouded. Mods are great for Gamers, but since the game is built on a different engine, it will be very hard for players to mod without the use of a mod tool which the developers are still not sure about.
Modding the game itself won’t be tough but developing the proper tools for it can be a pain for Keen Games right now so it will take at least some amount of time before you can start getting some PVP mods. But right now there is no support for mods.
But keep in mind that they are not against modding, and their response towards the modding community is positive. They right now left everything on the modders if they can figure out a way to create mods without using the tools for it, then rest assured that developers won’t stop them because the lack of modding tools makes modding a pain but not impossible. Take, for example, the Dark Souls Game. The game has got a lot of overhaul mods even though the game has no mod support at all.
To summarize, Enshrouded will not officially support mods during the launch. However, the developers might have to work on adding the mod support as the game gets launched or it gets out of its Early Access Stage, but there are no guarantees as to when it might happen.
So right now, let’s hope the game gets the mod support soon as we would love that to happen with Enshrouded.
