- C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur’s Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public\Savegames\Story
All the folders inside the Story folder are your save files. Start by deleting any game files you still have on your PC from here. Just ensure that the game isn’t running, as that won’t allow the game’s files to be deleted.
To wrap up this, you’ll need to delete any save file that might’ve been saved to the Steam cloud. Here’s how you could do the same-
- Head to steam/user data/(account’s unique folder number)- this number depends on how many accounts you’ve got. Further, every single one of those accounts will have a unique folder number, and you’ll be required to figure out which one you want to delete.
- In those files, locate a folder named 1086940, and once you’ve found it, hit delete on the same!
Once you’ve done all this, you’ve deleted every single shred of the game you had on your PC. However, head to Steam once and uninstall the game’s remaining files, and that should be enough for you to face no issues while the game’s new version rolls out.
How to find the AppData Folder?

The steam AppData folder is usually hidden, which might be why you can’t find it to make any changes to it, you’ll first need to make the folder accessible. Here’s how you could do the same-
- Open up the main-folder menu on your PC by accessing any random folder.
- Locate the view option on the top and click on it.
- Click on the “Show Hidden Files and Folders” check box and hit apply.
This should do the job for you. However, if you’re on Windows 11, here’s what you need to do-
- Open up any random folder
- Find three dots on the top of the folder and click on them.
- Go to options and then the View tab
- Under “Hidden Files and Folders”, click “Show Hidden files and folders”.
