New Purpose God Roll Guide – Destiny 2

New Purpose God Roll – After some slow weeks at the end of Season 17, Destiny 2 is once again filled with new content for players to dive into. The Season 17 or the Season of the Haunted update has brought a ton of exciting stuff into the game. Yes, the hype might not be as much as it much during the release of Witch Queen. But, to real Destiny 2 fans, any type of content is good content. Good or bad, they will play it regardless.

The Season 17 update has brought a ton of content to the game. There are a bunch of new Exotics, a ton of new powerful Legendary weapons, new activities, Solar 3.0, and most importantly, the Duality Dungeon. And what does a new dungeon mean? Awesome new weapons of course.

If you ask me, Duality Dungeon offers some of the best-looking weapons in the game. The designs are fresh, and none of them look like they are recycled(Not talking about the Opulent weapons).

One of the best weapons you can get from the Duality Dungeon is the New Purpose. New Purpose is a High-Impact Frame Pulse Rifle, just like the Messenger. It is a 340 Rounds-per-minute weapon with a magazine size of 28. It is a Kinetic Weapon, which means it goes to your primary slot. Also, it comes with a perk that is undoubtedly the best perk on Pulse Rifles – Desperado. Let’s check out the stats of New Purpose:

New Purpose Pulse Rifle - Destiny 2

Impact 33
Range 65
Stability 54
Handling 26
Reload Speed 31
Reload Time 2.45s
Aim Assistance 32
Zoom 18
Airborne Effectiveness 19
Recoil 70

Before you start farming the New Purpose, it is mandatory to know about the God Rolls for the weapon. Here they are.

New Purpose God Roll for PvP

Now, people who would be farming the New Purpose, are primarily going to farm for a PvP God Roll. The idea of a God Roll can be different for different people. If you ask me, then a New Purpose PvP God Roll should be:

  • Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling – Gives +5 boost to Range, Stability, and Handling.
  • Magazine: Ricochet Rounds – The best magazine perk for this weapon. You get +5 Range and +10 Stability.
  • Trait #1: Tunnel Vision – After getting an elimination with this weapon and reloading it within 6 seconds, you get +20 Aim Assist, which lasts for 5 seconds.
  • Trait #2: Desperado – The best perk for Pulse Rifles. No questions asked. The fire rate increase turns this weapon into a laser.
  • Origin Trait: Bitterspite – Fixed perk. But a good one. Your Reload Speed is almost instant with 5 stacks of Bitterspite.
  • Masterwork: Range – I prefer Range to Stability Masterwork, on my Pulse Rifles.
  • Mod: Full Auto Retrofit: With Desperado proc’d, this almost feels like an Auto Rifle.

New Purpose God Roll for PvE

  • Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling – Gives +5 boost to Range, Stability, and Handling.
  • Magazine: Armor-Piercing Rounds – This works really well inside the Duality Dungeon, where some enemies just won’t let their shields go.
  • Trait #1: Feeding Frenzy – Helps a lot with the Reload Speed.
  • Trait #2: Desperado – Desperado is quite good for PvE, as well. You can also go for Adaptive Munitions.
  • Origin Trait: Bitterspite – Fixed perk. But a good one. Your Reload Speed is almost instant with 5 stacks of Bitterspite.
  • Masterwork: Handling – Since we do not need to focus on Range and Stability in PvE. Increased Handling makes the weapon feel crispier.
  • Mod: Full Auto Retrofit – Nobody got time to do so much clicking and tapping in PvE.
