- Ensure your controller is turned on before you launch the game.

- You can try launching the Game in Steam Big Picture Mode
- Maybe your keyboard has been set to the Controller Player 1. All you need to do is close the game and relaunch it, but do not press any keys on your keyboard. Try using the controller to navigate to the Character Selection Screen in the Exhibition mode and double-check if your controller is set to Player 1.
- Use a controller that supports modern games. Avoid using locally made generic controllers.
- If you find no PlayStation controller icons showing up, then all you need to do is go to Steam > Settings > Controller > External Gamepad Settings > PlayStation Controller Support > Not Enabled.
