The Finals Won’t Launch or Crashing at Startup

Check the minimum System Requirements
First and foremost, check out the minimum system requirements to see if you are not meeting the requirements on a hardware level.

Graphics Driver Update
Make sure you have the latest Graphics Driver downloaded and installed on your System.

Lower the Performance Core Ratio
You can also try lowering the Performance Core Ratio for those who are running Intel CPUs. All you need to do is download the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility from here and lower your “Performance Core Ratio” from 55x to 54x. The user who suggested such a fix had its Performance Core Ratio at 57x and once he lowered it down to 54x the game started working properly. He also reported that even after playing for a few hours he didn’t encounter a single crash. Those who are not able to get into the game without crashing or BSOD should try lowering the Performance core Ratio.
Update Windows and BIOS
Remember that you need to have the latest version of Windows 11 installed on your system. Nowadays, Games and Graphics Drivers require the latest version of Windows 11 to be installed to run properly. First, update your Windows 11 completely, and then try running the game after you have restarted your PC.
For some of the users, a quick BIOS Update solved their crashing and launching issues.
Editing Config File
You can try editing the config file if your game doesn’t launch because of “Out of Video Memory”. You can change the top section of the Settings.ini file to this. Go to this location to find the config file: %LOCALAPPDATA%/Discovery/Saved/Config/WindowsClient/GameUserSettings.ini.

Sign out and Sign in to Embark Account
To fix The Finals Crashing issue, you can try signing out and signing in to the Embark Account. For that, you have to go to the Connections tab and disconnect the Steam. Rerun the game, and The Finals will prompt you to sign in again. And once you have done that, you will be able to get into the game and start with choosing your character.
Turn off Screen Recorders
It has been reported by a user on the Steam Community that the game would only launch if it is opened in Windowed mode while crashes when it is on Full Screen or Windowed Full Screen. Turning off the Nvidia Screen Recorder fixed the issue for him.
Verify the Integrity of the Files
To Verify the integrity of the Files all you need to do is
- Open Steam and go to the library
- Find the game “The Finals”
- Select Properties after you have right-clicked on it
- Click on the “Verify Integrity of the Game Files”
- Relaunch the game after the process is completed.
Downclock your GPU/CPU if you have overclocked it
If you are using an overclocked CPU or GPU then it’s time to downclock it to the default speeds. Overclocking a CPU or GPU causes a lot of issues if it is not able to draw power from the PSU.
Disable or Pause Windows Defender
You can also try disabling or turning off the Windows Defender by simply following the steps.
- Open Start and go to settings
- Go to Windows Security after clicking on Update and Security Option
- Disable the Real-Time Scanning from the Virus and Threat Protection Settings
- You can also pause the protection while playing The Finals if you have a 3rd Party Antivirus software.

To change the priority of The Finals to High, follow these steps
- Launch the game first
- Minimize the game and launch the Task Manager
- Open the Details Tab, find the TheFinals.exe process, and right-click on it.
- Set the game’s Priority to high
- Exit and Restart the game again.
Reinstall the Game Completely
