Starfield: Jump to Unity or Jump Normally in One Giant Leap

Starfield provides you with many opportunities. Be it to roam or create your own story, given that, there are a lot of decisions to make. The biggest decision to be made in the game takes place at the very end, where you’ll have to choose between two realms: you can either stay in your current one or have a second opportunity as a Starborn in another. In this article, we’ll guide you with the choice you should make once you reach the campaign’s end.

Jump to Unity or Jump Normally in One Giant Leap

Essentially, the decision to be made here is whether you “Power up the Grav Drive to Jump to the Unity” or “Remove the Armillary to Grav Jump Normally” in the One Giant Leap mission. Which translates to, should you jump into the Unity to restart as a Starborn or remain in the current realm that you’re in by turning back? To step into Unity means many things, and before you make that decision, here’s our take on it.

What happens once you step into Unity

It doesn’t matter who you side with, be it Hunter, Emissary, or neither; your final decision remains the same. If you step into Unity, it’d mean you’ve beaten the game, as you’ll be given another chance to start over as a “Starborn”. By doing so, you’ll also forever lose access to all the progress you’ve made in your current realm, meaning that you’ll get a fresh start in the other replicated realm being a Starborn: whether it’s known to everyone or just you.

Don’t worry, as this isn’t a one-time thing. If you decide to stay in your current realm for a while and then step into Unity, you can do that by reconstructing the Armillary you’ve just created. For now, if you decide to stay in your current realm, you’ll keep all your progress, gear, and everything else, meaning that you’ll be able to do more faction missions or side quests (if you want to).

NOTE: Even if you jump into Unity, you will keep your current level and the other perks you’ve earned. You’ll likely lose your gear, progress, and a few other materialistic things, and progress in the last realm. Finally, you will never be able to return to your old realm once you’ve jumped into Unity.

Now that you know the benefits and drawbacks of jumping into Unity, here’s our take on whether you should.

The logic behind our answer is very simple: if you’re satisfied with your progress in your current realm, you might as well get the Starborn status and a fresh start with a completed campaign tag. On the other hand, if you want to keep all of the progress you’ve made along with your gear and other items, you might as well stay longer.

If you choose to restart the campaign with the Starborn perspective, know that you can start once the credits have been rolled through at the game’s second mission. Further, you’ll also have the option to speed run through the campaign by skipping the main storyline!

That’s everything there was to know about jumping into Unity or turning back in Starfield.
