If you’re bored with your current vessel in Starfield, fortunately for you, there’s a way by which you can get your hands on any ship you can see.

That’s right, there’s a way to steal ships in Starfield, and it isn’t as simple as just walking into one. There are some steps to be taken before you make your move, and hence, in this article, we’ll be extensively covering how exactly you could Steal a Ship in Starfield. Keep reading till the end.

How to Steal Ship in Starfield

There are plenty of fish in the sea, at least in the dark sea in this scenario. There are a lot of ships from the very beginning that you could steal and get your hands on. The process sounds a little complicated at first. However, we assure you that it’s quite an easy one. Here’s everything on how you could Steal a Ship in Starfield.

For starters, all you need to do is locate a ship you’d like to make one of your own. Next, combat it and disable it by taking out its engines. While doing so, ensure you don’t destroy the ship completely, as it’d just render it useless. At this step, you’ll be able to Dock your current ship into it, and once you’ve managed to do so, board the target ship.

Be ready, though, as you’ll be facing a whole bunch of NPCs waiting to fight with you on the other side. Make sure that you eliminate everyone in the target ship, and once that’s done, walk up to the ship’s pilot seat and interact with it. If the ship’s grade is either B or C, you might be unable to fly it. To do so, you’ll need certain skills you can acquire through the game’s skill tree.

However, if you’ve got the skills required to fly the given ship, detach it from your previous ship and head to the closest Starport. The ship you’ve just left behind will be automatically added to your fleet, and you can retrieve it from any Starport. Lastly, head up to the Starport technician and interact with him to register a given ship. Select “view your ships” from the menu, and from here on, register the ship you’ve just stolen.

Registering a ship means that once that’s done, it officially becomes yours, allowing you to perform certain actions, such as selling and/or customizing it. Registering the ship will set you back a hefty amount of credits. However, the captain’s locker and the ship’s cargo might help you cope with the setback. Further, once you sell the ship, you’ll probably make a bit out of it, but don’t expect too much, though!

If the ship you’re looking to steal is parked somewhere, all you need to do is walk into it, engage with the NPCs, and repeat the process we’ve stated above. If this doesn’t work with the ship you’re looking to steal, it might simply be unavailable for players.

Your old ship will still be with you even if you get another one, so there’s absolutely nothing that you need to worry about, and as we’ve mentioned above, you’ll be able to access it from any given Starport! That’s everything there was to know about how you could steal a ship in Starfield.
