Released on the 18th of November, 2022, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the first open-world Role playing games in the Pokémon series. It is available on Nintendo Switch. Usually, Pokémon games have a storyline, this game features an open world, and a distinctive storyline, and all of this is paired up with the fact that you can play it with your friends.
In the battles in this game, you have the option to skip the battle completely by utilizing the Run function if you feel that you will lose the battle.
The Run function has been there ever since the beginning of the Pokémon games, and following this, you can use the Run function in this game too.
Therefore, we at Frondtech have made the following guide where we explain how to Run from a battle in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Running Away in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
A lot of Pokémon games offer you the Run feature if you fear that you will lose the battle that you are fighting. The following paragraphs deal with using the Run function to help you in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
At present, we do not know whether all the Pokemon will be equipped with the Run function in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet or not. However, there lies a chance that a few of them will.
Having said the above, note that the option to Run away is available to you during your wild encounters and not during your Gym Battle or when you are paired with a Trainer.
In the previous games, there existed even the element of speed that was involved, wherein you could not possibly outrun a wild Pokémon who had a speed stat higher than yours.
Therefore, make sure that you are in a battle with a Pokémon that has lower speed so that you can run away with success.
Normally, the Run option is available to you when you go to the battle menu, and you can easily find it there.
When clicked on it, it would make you, as the name suggests, Run away from the battle and you would not have to further engage with the wild Pokémon.
Another tip is to use a Pokémon with a higher speed stat than the wild Pokémon to run away swiftly. Otherwise, you also have the option to optimize items like the Smoke bomb or the Poke Doll to distract the wild Pokémon.
Remember: If your Pokémon is under the effect of a Binding move, then make sure to wait till the effect wears off, as you cannot run away before this happens. After the effect wears off, run away.
That is all we had on how to run away from a battle in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
