Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is an all-new game released on November 18th, 2022. The game was developed by Gamefreak and published by Nintendo. The game features new storylines and Pokemons while borrowing the same game mechanics from the last Pokemon games.
The very famous Charizard is a fire Pokemon that you can find in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The Charizard is the final stage of evolution for this dragon-type pokemon as it evolves from Chameleon at level 36.
Charmeleon, on the other hand, grows from a Charmander at level 16. This fire-breathing dragon comes under the dragon egg and the monster group categories. The Charizard also appears in other Pokemon games in the past, like Pokemon Sword & Shield and Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.

How to get Charizard in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Right now, you will only be able to get Charizard by doing the Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles. These battles happen in the game; this time, Charizard with the Dragon Tera Type will appear in this Black Crystal Event.
There will be similar events in the game again, where you will be allowed to fight, defeat,
and capture the event-exclusive Pokemon. When writing this article, Charizard can only be obtainable from the Raids as they do not usually appear in the Paldea region for you to fight and catch.
The Charizard is an evolved form of Charmeleon. Remember that you dont need any special items to make Charmander evolve into a Charmeleon. It will automatically develop on level 16, and then the Charmeleon, upon reaching level 36, will evolve into a Charizard. Collect as many EXP Points as you can and take them to battles so that they can evolve faster. If you get a Charmander, level it up, and it will soon evolve into a Charizard.
But to get a Charmander, you must breed Charizard with an opposite-gender Pokemon in the Dragon Egg Group to get the required egg.
How to defeat Charizard in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Charizard is one of the mightiest Pokemons you will encounter, and to use him properly; you should be aware of his abilities. You can expect these two abilities to be inflicted upon you when you are going against them.
- Blaze – If your HP is below 1/3rd, the Fire damage increases by 50% more.
- Solar Power – Although it is a hidden power, it will increase your extraordinary attack power by 50%, but your HP will decrease by 12.5% after every turn.
When going against Charizard in Raid matches, remember that Charizard is weak against Rock, Water and Electric Types of Pokemons. You can use the following Pokemon types to damage Charizard.

Remember, getting a Charizard is not easy, so we highly recommend you complete the entire game before preparing for the Raids. Although you can join in Raids even during the game’s early stages using the Link code, it is not advisable to do so as these 7-star Charizards are very difficult to take down without proper Pokemons and training.
