If you have the Aetherium Crystals on you, then it can help skip the Pack-a-Punch machine. The weapon that you have equipped on you will be upgraded immediately. With this Pack-a-Punch method, you do not require Essence, but if you are looking for the Refined Aetherium Crystals for Level II of Pack-a-Punch, you have come looking at the right place.

How to get Aetherium Crystals in MWZ
As previously said, these allow you to Pack-a-Punch your weapon immediately for free but have a one-time use. So, you can upgrade your weapon to either level I or II. You do not require the usual 5000-10000 Essence for it. However, if you still want a fully powered weapon, you will still have to visit the machine and pay the fee.
The Aetherium Crystals have multiple versions: Raw Aetherium Crystals that Packs-a-Punch your weapon to Level I and the Refined Aetherium Crystals that Packs-a-Punch your weapon to Level II. If you find a crystal schematic, then make sure that you stow these away. I recommend using these in the beginning rather than towards the end, as all effects are gone after you exfil. So, if you are to enter the medium to high threat zones, I suggest you use it at the start of the game.
By doing the above, you even have the option to craft these with the help of the Schematic Crafting screen before deploying them in the main menu screen. Note that if you find a crystal as an item and not as its plans, then it won’t count as the schematics for crafting, but will stay in your inventory.
Where can you find the Refined Aetherium Crystals in MWZ
Although within the given 60-minute timer, it is a long shot to Pack-a-Punch your weapon, it would take a bit longer to find the Aetherium Crystals. These Aetherium Crystals spawn quite randomly; there is no guarantee that you will get one in each match. You can only get your hands on the Refined Aetherium Crystals by way of Reward Rift via completion of the Contracts; however, with this method, there is no guarantee.
However, I recommend completing the medium-threat contracts in Urzikstan’s orange zone. These do not differ much from the high-threat contracts but offer greater rewards, so this option is safer than going into the red zone. And if you are going to the orange and red zones, you will require Pack-a-Punched weapons.
I suggest the Spore Control, Eliminate the Bounty and Deliver Cargo contracts for quick and easy reward rift unlocks. When the Delive Cargi Contract appears, you only consider investing in the red zone for the rare schematics. Even a few missions in the Acts like Act II: Tier V have schematics, although if they have the Refined Aetherium Crystals as rewards, it is still unconfirmed.
