Fix Redfall no sound or audio bug – Redfall is a first-person Shooter game based on the latest Unreal Engine 4 Graphics and features open-world Coop Gameplay. It is developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Software.
Since Redfall was released, many gamers have complained about the no sound issues. Since we are very active on forums, we see many gamers be victims of the Audio bug or no sound in the game. One of our editors faced a similar issue when testing out the game, and he tried a couple of troubleshooting steps, out of which the fourth one seemed to work for him.
So if you are facing the same problem while playing Redfall, then these steps might come in handy to you and will fix your no sound or audio bug in Redfall.
Fix Redfall No Sound or Audio Bug
Here are some quick tips to help improve the Redfall with no sound or Audio bugs.
Select the Proper Audio Output
Sometimes, your primary output switches automatically when you plug in a new audio controller or a second audio device. Then you might have this no-sound issue in Redfall, and to fix that, follow these steps.
- There will be a speaker icon on the lower right corner of the screen, specifically on the system tray.
- Find that and Right click on it.
- The Sound Settings will open up.
- Select the proper output device from under the Sound Tab you intend to use.
- Click Okay and hit Exit.
- Try Restarting the game, and you should have the audio output now.
Use a 3.5mm Jack Headphone instead of Wireless Headphones
Always try using a 3.5mm jack headphone rather than a wireless one. There are two types of headphones, Wired and Wireless. Use the wired one with the 3.5mm jack and connect it directly to your PC by putting it inside the Speaker/Audio input and then run the game.
I had a similar issue, and what I did was I connected my HyperX Cloud Stinger Wireless Gaming Headphones. I disconnected it and plugged in my MSI Wired Gaming Headphones, and my Audio issues disappeared. We also have reports that people are having problems using USB Powered headphones, which can be avoided by switching to 3.5mm jack headphones.
Change Playback Device Format
You might also have sound issues if you don’t have the game audio routed through the Native Windows Settings. You can make changes to these by following these steps.
- Find the Speaker icon on the System Tray and right-click on it.
- Click on the Playback Device Tab from Sounds.
- Right-Click on the Properties and go to the Advanced Tab option.
- Change the format from 48000Hz 16bit (DVD Quality) to 96000Hz 24Bit as the output.
- Hit okay and rerun the game.
Disable Spatial or Windows Sonic
Disable any Windows Sonic or Spatial Sound, as they are buggy on Windows currently. As we mentioned earlier, one of our Editors faced the same issue, and simply disabling it fixed the audio issues in Redfall.
Enable all the Audio Enhancements
Enable the audio enhancements to fix all audio-related issues because disabling them leads to audio loss sometimes. Follow these methods to enable them.
- Get to the Sound Settings and select the Playback Tab.
- Right-click on the Playback Devices.
- Select Properties and click on Enhancements.
Update the Audio Drivers
If none of the above seems to work, you can try updating the drivers. Alot of the websites will tell you to reinstall drivers, but you shouldn’t do that until and unless you are having issues with all the games and applications. If all other apps and games run fine, then it’s Redfall’s issue rather than your native settings.
However, if you are still concerned, you can reinstall the audio drivers by downloading them from the Motherboard Manufacturer’s website. But remember, do not download any essential drivers from any 3rd party random websites. If you are having Lagging or Crashing issues with Redfall, then you can check this article out.
