How to defeat Armoured Troll in Hogwarts Legacy
Armoured Troll is an enemy you will face in Hogwarts Legacy, and it is quite easy to take him out, especially if you know the buttons you need to press to dodge its attacks. When you reach Hogsmeade, you can explore the whole map while completing four different objectives. First, you will have to visit the Tomes and Scrolls, then Ollivanders, J Pippin’s potions, and finally, the Magic Neep. You can easily track it on the map and ensure you have every free item they offer.
After doing this, you will have to interact with your Hogwarts friend (Natsai or Sebastian), and your conversation will be interrupted by two Armoured Trolls that attack Hogsmeade. Remember that this is a mandatory fight, and you will not receive any rewards after defeating him.
The main two primary ways of defeating the Trolls are by Dodging their attacks and taking full advantage when you are at range.
Before the actual fight begins, there will be a series of QuickTime events where you will be taught how to dodge running enemies, which can be an excellent tip for future battles. As the battle starts, the Armored Trolls will run toward you, and you need to dodge them. The Troll will hit the wall and be immobilized for a couple of seconds, and you can use this opportunity to attack him.
And the second tip for fighting enemies in Hogwarts Legacy is to take advantage of the range and quickly use your Stupefy attacks on him. You can also use the combinator of other attacks you have learnt in the Hogwarts School to damage him, for example, the Accio, where you can pull nearby objects to damage the Troll. Once his health is completely drained, you can invoke Ancient magic on the Troll to finish him.
Remember, there are three attack patterns of the Armored Troll. The first phase includes a Running Attack. The second Phase includes the Club Slam Attack and the Swing Attack. In the Third Phase, the Troll uses a combination of both Running and Club attacks where the Troll will run towards you and then slam its club in the front. Make sure you press the Ctrl button on your keyboard to dodge, or press the Q button to have the Portego shield around you.
You will also earn the Troll with the Punches Steam Achievement during the cutscene post-battle.
