Frame Rate Vs Graphics - Which Game Performance to Choose in FF16?

Frame Rate Vs Graphics – Which Game Performance to Choose in FF16?

It all comes down to your gameplay style, and as we’ve mentioned, there are two options: Frame Rate and Graphics. It’s worth knowing that the quality drop within these two settings isn’t very much; you might be able to notice a difference, depending on how much you focus on the game’s scenic side. But let’s get down to the actual question, which is, when should you choose the Frame Rate or Graphics mode:

Frame Rate Mode
Frame Rate Mode FF16

With frame rate mode, you’ll more likely experience less FPS drops. This could be due to the slightly decreased game quality resulting in less load on your processor, RAM and VRAM. If you have a High Refresh Rate TV or Monitor, and you’ll be more focused on combat while playing the game, and you need the game to be stable and responsive, we recommend you opt for the frame rate mode. You could, of course, opt for the Graphics mode if you think your PC could handle it!

We’d say this mode is for players who are okay with a few FPS drops but need the game’s visuals to be appealing. It’s likely that you’ll experience some FPS drops if your PC can’t handle the load of the game well, but at the same time, you might not even notice it at times. As many players have reported, using the Graphics mode would result in much more immersive gameplay than the Frame Rate mode. The game also includes a lot of cutscenes that are visually absolutely stunning, so opting for Graphics mode is a totally valid choice.

If you’re on a different graphics mode than what you desire to be at, here’s how you could switch between the two graphics modes in the game!

  1. On your controller, press the options button.
  2. Press the R2 button to now navigate toward the System Tab.
  3. There, you’ll see an option for “Game Performance Mode”.
  4. Once you’ve found the option, all you need to do is to switch to the mode you were looking for.

Note: You can switch between game performance modes anytime, but the cutscenes!

That’s everything there is to know about choosing between game performance modes in Final Fantasy 16.
