Fix WWE 2K24 Controller not Working

WWE 2K24 is not at all fun without controllers, and since the game just got released, it might take some time for the developers to address and patch the issues. So, if you are having issues with your controller while playing WWE 2K24, these are a few tips you can try. That being said, the first suggestion worked for us as we encountered the same issue initially.

So, in this article, we will talk about fixing the Controller issues in WWE 2K24.

Fix WWE 2K24 Controller not Working

What to do if your Controller is not Working in WWE 2K24

Through the good old trial-and-error method, here are some suggestions that we think will definitely fix your controller issues in WWE 2K24.

Try Connecting your Wireless Controller with a USB Type C Cable on your PC (Xbox and PS Controllers)

If you are having issues playing wirelessly and your controller stops responding. Then, connect your Xbox Controller or PS5 Controller to the PC via the USB C Cable. The Xbox and PS5 Controllers are also designed to run on Bluetooth. If you have connectivity and latency issues, use a Type C cable to connect the Controller to the PC, which will work flawlessly. This is mainly because of the legacy issues with 2K and EA Games that do not allow games to work correctly until the controller is connected to a wired connection.

While you are at it, we recommend that you connect your controller before booting WWE 2K24, so the game detects it as it boots up. This is a weird bug that was there in WWE 2K22 as well. Double-check your Controller is connected to your PC and turned on before launching the game.

Stick to Wired Controllers for now

Wired Controllers are not a thing anymore as both affordable and premium quality Wireless Controllers have taken over the Gaming Accessories Market. But, to be honest, from what we have faced so far, many games still face issues with the Wireless controllers (and we are talking about new games, of course), and one of them is WWE 2K24. This year, with 2K24, to be honest, the game has been notoriously giving issues using a Wireless Controller. So switching to a Wired Controller is the best way to go, and it fixes many problems for players, as reported on both Reddit and other gaming forums.

Remove Controllers which are not in use

Remove or disconnect the other controllers that you are not using. For example, if you intend to use only the PS5 controller, then make sure you remove every game controller connected to your PC, i.e., Joysticks, Xbox Controller, Gaming Wheels, and other Gaming Accessories connected via USB or Wirelessly. If you have multiple controllers connected, you might run into an issue of controller conflict, which also reflects the issues in WWE 2K24.

Double-Check your Controller Connection

Check if your Controller is connected correctly or not:

  1. Open Steam App
  2. Go to Settings and select Controller Options
  3. Find Connected controllers under Controller Settings
  4. Click on Begin Test to start testing the inputs.
  5. If it is not showing up, try reconnecting and disconnecting the controllers.

Disable the Steam Input

To disable Steam Input, it will help you load default profiles:

  1. Open Steam App.
  2. Find WWE 2K24 and right-click on it.
  3. Select Properties and click on the option “Override for WWE 2K24.”
  4. Disable the Steam Input and reboot the game.

Try out a new Controller or switch to a new USB Port.

If neither of the above works, try switching to a new USB Port on your PC. But if your Controller is busted, it’s time to get a new one. Ensure you get one from a trusted manufacturer, as local or Chinese-manufactured controllers might not work with WWE 2K24.
