More or less, all the games nowadays are typically more enjoyable when played using a controller. Since we are quite active on all the forums, we have been seeing people complaining about the controllers not working properly in AC6. This is a common issue; we faced it well when launching the game for the first time. We fixed it using one of the suggested techniques mentioned below, but you can try the rest if needed.
So this article will guide you on fixing the Armored Core 6 Controller not Working for PC.
How to fix Armored Core 6 Controller not Working For PC
These are the three suggested fixes that you can try out to fix Armored Core 6 controller not Working for PC.
Check if all your controllers are connected
First of all, you need to check whether your Controllers are properly connected or not. To do this
- First Open the Steam App and then go to Settings
- Go to the Controller option on the left
- Click on the General Controller Settings
- It should show the plugged-in controllers as they automatically got detected
- Disconnect and reconnect the controller if they are not showing up.
- Restart the PC and try launching the game again.
As mentioned earlier, we faced a similar issue when using the Wireless Xbox Controller. But as we connected it using the Type C Cable, the AC6 automatically detected it and has been working without issues.
Remove every other controller other than your main controller
If you are someone like me who has multiple controllers plugged into your PC, then you will face issues like this quite frequently. Believe it or not, this is actually a pretty common issue with people who have controllers like Steering Wheels, PS controllers, Xbox controllers, etc., plugged in at the same time.
Avoid Wireless Controllers for AC6
Avoid using Wireless Controllers, for this game at least, as we often get reports of players randomly disconnecting. Hence, you can try switching to a Wired controller over a Wireless One, especially if you use a Wireless Xbox Controller. People get disconnected when using the dongle or connecting to Bluetooth. So it’s better always to keep a spare Wired controller to tackle problems like these.
Disable Steam Input
Disabling the Steam Input also helps you load the default profiles for Armored Core 6 controller. Here are some of the steps that you can use to disable the Steam Input altogether.
- Exit the game and get back to the desktop first.

- Click on Properties and find the Controller option on the left tab.
- Check the Box to tick mark on the “Override for Armored Core 6”.
- Then select the “Disable Steam Input” option
- Relaunch the game, and it should start working now
