How to fix the Black Screen bug in F1 2021
It looks like a lot of people who bought F1 2021 on Steam are facing the Black Screen issue whenever they are trying to play the game. The name of the bug is pretty self-explanatory.
The bug is causing people to experience nothing but a black screen in-game. For some players, the game sounds are present, but there are no visuals. And for some, the screen is completely blank with no activity whatsoever.
People are already showing their frustration over the Codemasters forums. And this is totally understandable, as there are a lot of people who eagerly wait for F1 titles every year. It gives them the feeling of driving real race cars on different circuits.
How to fix the black screen error
A user called Josephus has already posted a fix on the Steam discussions page of F1 2021. Here is what he did to fix the black screen problem:
BLACK SCREEN FIX HERE. SOLVED for me.I got the black screen. Game runs but cannot render video.
I opened C:\Users\crypt\Documents\My Games\F1 2021\hardwaresettings\hardware_settings_config.xml and changed the screen resolution in line 4 to my native 4k monitor and runs like butter.

What he is saying is that you need to go to this location: C:\Users\[Your Username]\Documents\My Games\F1 2021\hardwaresettings. Open the file called hardware_settings_config.xml, and change the screen resolution located in the fourth line to the native resolution of your monitor.
I actually went ahead and checked the Codemasters forums, and found out that this fix has been recommended on my posts. And there are many people who have managed to solve their black sreen problem via this method. So go ahead, give it a try.

Hi, i have something similar, my background animation and in game goes green wile playing, but the fixed stiff the speedo, and map is normal. But this happens in different game times.
