Obtaining Onyx in Dragon’s Dogma 2

There are three ways to get Onyx in Dragon’s Dogma 2:

Find Onyx in the Open World These can be found in chests/caves/shacks and amongst bandits and goblins in Vermund. These are rare, and you must pay attention whenever your Pawn communicates about a potential chest location. You can find these as points of interest on the minimap with an exclamation point. If the pawn spots one, then the Chest icon will also appear.
Pawn Quests You can complete Pawn Quests to get Onyx. However, it is not guaranteed because every player has their own needs, so keep track of such quests whenever you come across one.
It can be found in Trevo Mine. You can also find this in a chest inside Trevo Mine. It is located west of Vernworth. Take proper precautions before pushing because the place is swarmed with goblins.

How to use Onyx in Dragon’s Dogma 2

You can sell off Onyx to a Vendor for 800G. It is currently the best value in the game, along with Jasper and Tiger Eye, especially if you require Gold. If you sell this item where this Jewel is scarce, you will enjoy an increased selling Price. You can earn up to 2400 Gold when you sell Onyx in Vermund.

You can use Onyx as a gift to an NPC to amplify your Romance progress in the game. Likewise, you can gift this to Ulrika, as mentioned in this article. You can use the logbook as a handy guide to find their likes under the History menu. Always keep an eye on the character’s reactions when you present them with Onyx as a gift, as right now, it still does not fall under any specific category of gifting.

If you need to find vendors in DD2, you can find them in Vernworth or Melve. The presence of a vendor means it will indicate an inn nearby that you can use to deposit and withdraw items. Don’t unsheath your weapon, as it can scare the Vendor away, and you won’t be able to interact with them.

So that was all about getting and using Onyx in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
