One of the gigs in Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty is the mission known as the ‘Shot By Both Sides’, and it can be initiated by the players after the main mission ‘Get it Together’. While completing this gig, apart from collecting an odd access card and traveling to several places, he also has to make a major decision that involves the fates of two of this mission’s characters.

Kill Dante or Not in Shot by Both Sides: Cyberpunk 2077
After players are done with the escort section of the gig ‘Shot by Both Sides’ of the game, they will find themselves in a lab. Here, Dante (the stranger in the gig) will confront Bree, and during the confrontation itself, the players are popped up with a choice they need to make. Kill Dante or let Dante kill Bree?
Here are both the options explained and the consequences of both of them.
What happens if you kill Dante?
Here is what follows if players choose the option to kill Dante:
- From a nearby table, collect Bree’s Riskit Iconic Power Pistol
- Then, call Mr.Hands upon exiting
- After the call ends, the gig ends, and to V’s account, 5,000 eddies are transferred by Cyberpunk 2077 fixer.
What happens if you let Dante kill Bree?
Here is what follows if players choose the option to let Dante kill Bree:
- Players will get information which would confirm that the accusations of Dante were true
- Players also get, as a reward, 5,000 eddies
- Moreover, players also have the option to loot from Bree’s body the Riskit Iconic Power Pistol
- Then, while exiting the lab, call Mr. Hands
- Note that this performance by V will not be something that the fixer will be pleased by and, therefore, will not even provide additional funds.
Now, about the question: what should an ideal player choose to do? The answer is that it all depends on your belief or adherence to roleplay, given that unlike other gigs like Spy in the Jungle: Let Kataya Go or Not, where benefits are different, here, regardless of choice, the benefits that players receive are the same.
So, the moment has come where V has to decide whether he can be convinced with extra information or believes in protecting the client no matter their actions.
