Other than levelling up conventionally, that is, to simply progress through the game’s main storyline to gain XP, there are some things you might do to gain some additional XP that’ll help you level up just a bit faster. Here’s an in-detail compilation of methods or different ways using which you could level up faster-
Defeating Enemies
Whenever you encounter an opponent and manage to eliminate them, you’ll be rewarded with a certain amount of XP. Additionally, you’ll be rewarded with an additional XP boost whenever you take down certain enemies. If not, you’ve earned XP after a battle. You’ll be able to know this through an XP icon appearing over you and your party’s heads; if there is one appearing, that signifies that you’ve just gained a said amount of XP! Eliminating more enemies basically would mean more XP and hence leveling up faster!
Completing Side Quests
The Main quests will get you some XP to help you level up; however, one-factor players tend to miss out on side quests. Side quests can be very rewarding in terms of XP gain. Further, if you interact with an NPC, you might unlock a whole line of their side quests that you can complete to gain some additional XP. Not every one of these NPCs will have a side-quest for you; hence, when you’ve got an opportunity with one, take it!
Exploration
Exploring newer locations in the game will indirectly get you some additional XP, providing you with newer opportunities such as more quests, side quests, etc. Complete those quests/side quests to earn some additional XP!
Skill Checks
Completing a skill check will eventually reward you with some additional XP, given that Skill Checks help get substantial upgrades, especially when you’ve got a decent roll on offer. If you’ve got a successful roll, you will automatically be rewarded with a bunch of XP after a particular event or conversation.
These XP intervals usually take place when you’ve got an option to persuade someone in your favor. Further, you might need to adjust your party’s stats to get favourable results.
Doing all these things will grant you more XP than you’d normally get completing the main storyline, allowing you to level up faster in Baldur’s Gate.
