Assassin’s Creed (AC) Mirage – Guide to fix Lag and Low FPS issues

AC Mirage Lag Low FPS – Players with medium to high-end rigs are not facing any issues with playing Mirage, but the low-end PCs are affected badly. So, we decided to go around the issues and show you the simple tweaks and tricks to help you fix your issues while playing AC Mirage.

How to fix Low FPS and Lag issues in Mirage

You need first to make sure that the performance issues that you are facing are not because of your hardware limitations. Let me remind you that if your hardware cannot run this game, there is typically no point in moving further with the guide. Mirage is a great game but demanding, on the other hand. To run this game, you will need a Core i7-4790K Processor or an AMD Ryzen 5 1600. You would also need a GTX 1060 or an AMD Radeon RX 570 to run it at the lowest settings at 30FPS on 1080p. If you push the settings further, you will need much more up-to-date and beefier hardware. So, if your game is lagging, ensure it is not because of your hardware. Now that it is out of the way, you can also consider looking at the latest Drivers from AMD and Nvidia. We cannot deny that a lot of us consider upgrading GPUs but forget to update the graphics card drivers, and this is where the problem starts. Outdated drivers are the prime reasons for performance losses in games. Download the latest AMD and Nvidia drivers from their official website.

If you have a most recent Gaming PC, there might be no issue, or you have not dialed in the proper Graphics Settings for Assassins Creed Mirage. However, if you still get low performance after tweaking, something else might be the issue. There are a lot of methods with which you can fix the lag in games, but not all of them work, and you need to keep trying.

Nvidia Control Panel

You can start with tweaking the Nvidia Control Panel, where you will need to open up the Panel first and click on the ‘Adjust image settings with preview’ located on the left side under 3D settings and ensure that the ‘Use the advanced 3D image settings’ option is selected.

Click on “Manage 3D Settings” and then click on the Program Settings Tab. Find the Assassins Creed Mirage and select “Select Program to Customize”. If you don’t see the game on the list, click the Add button to show all the recently used applications. Select AC Mirage and then add it.

You can also try adding the .exe file manually by clicking on the Browse option and going to the folder where you have installed the Game. Once you have added the .exe file, you will find some settings are available for that game.

  • Image Sharpening: Off
  • Threaded Optimization: On
  • Power Management: Prefer Maximum Performance
  • Low Latency Mode: Off
  • Vertical sync: Off
  • Texture filtering – Quality: Performance

On the other hand, AMD Users can disable the Radeon Anti-Lag. Boost, Frame Rate Target Control, and Anisotropic Filtering. You can also turn off other options like Image Sharpening, Morphological Filtering, V-Sync, Maximum Tesselation Level & Radeon Chill. You can use the following settings for Mirage.

  1. Tesselation and Shader Cache – AMD Optimized
  2. Anti-Aliasing – Use Application Settings
  3. Anti-Aliasting Method – Multi-Sampling.
  4. Texture Filtering Quality – Performance
  5. GPU Workload – Graphics
  6. Surface Format Optimization – Enabled

Close Applications

If you have some heavy applications running in the background, ensure you end all those processes. To do that, go to Task Manager and then select the Processes Tab. Click on the CPU. Adjust the arrow so that the Resource Hungry Apps go on the top. Check every process that you don’t need, click on it and select “End Task”

Delete Temporary Files

You will find a lot of useless files inside the Temp Folder, which makes your PC’s performance a little bit sluggish. Remove all of them by

  1. Going to the Start Menu and press the Windows+R Key to open Run
  2. Type %Temp% and hit Enter
  3. A dialog box will open. Press Ctrl + A to select all of them and click on delete.

Extra Fixes

Remember that there are other steps as well that are not currently listed here. Some of them might work for you, and some of them might not. Check this guide occasionally if you are facing issues, as we will continue updating this article.
