Persona 5 Strikers – Game won’t Launch – Failed to Start – How to fix

Persona 5 Strikers PC won’t Launch – This guide contains some basic fixes for those who are having trouble trying to launch Persona 5 Strikers on their PCs.

Persona 5 Strikers won’t launch for a lot of Steam user

One of the most anticipated titles of 2021, Persona 5 Strikers is finally here. And it seems to be doing fairly well across all the platforms. Of course, this is not how Persona games normally are. But the majority of the Persona fans are liking this change and that is what that matters.

Things might not be the smoothest for the PC version of P5S though. A bunch of posts has started popping on the Steam discussions page of P5S. And it looks like a lot of players are having problems at getting the game to launch or start. Now for some, it could be because of the low-end hardware in their PCs. Normally I would have judged how demanding the game is by looking at the recommended requirements. But in case of Persona 5 Strikers the given recommended requirements are highly inaccurate. There is no way this game runs at 1080p 60 fps smoothly on a GTX 680 and i5-3470. Players who are sitting with RTX 3070s and Ryzen 7 5800Xs are also facing this issue. So one thing is confirmed, this problem has nothing to do with PC hardware. Maybe for some users, but definitely not for everyone.

Now the main question is, are there any fixes for this issue? You see the problem is, it is hard to say specifically what is causing this issue. Startup issues can be triggered by various things. And the situation is different for different users. And if the issue is from the side of developers, then forget fixing it by yourself. Still, here are some fixes that you can try.

How to fix this issue

Before you forward with this guide, make sure that you are either using Windows 10 or Windows 8.1. If you are not, then there is no point reading this guide any further. Persona 5 Strikers runs properly only on Windows 10 and 8.1, that too only on the 64-bit versions. The Steam page of P5S has specifically mentioned this. If you are someone who uses Windows 7 or a 32-bit OS, then you are out of luck here.

Persona 5 system requirements

The first thing you should consider doing is, try running the executable file or .exe file of Persona 5 Strikers as admin. Just head over to the folder where you have installed Persona 5 Strikers. Right click on P5S.exe and select Properties. Now click on the Compatibility and check the box beside “Run this program as an administrator”. Start the game directly by double-clicking on the exe file, instead of launching it from your Steam Library.

Then there is always the good old file verification method. Just right-click on Persona 5 Strikers from your Steam Library, click on Properties, select the Local Files tab and then click on the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ button. Also, make sure that you are using the latest version of Visual C++ redistributable, as there’s a chance it hasn’t been installed correctly.

Check whether your Anti-virus software is blocking Persona 5 Strikers or Steam. This has happened to a lot of games last year. Even some AAA titles had this issue. The executable of P5S or Steam may be getting silently quarantined by some antivirus software, preventing the game from launching. Therefore, you may need to disable Real-Time Scanning function or Real-Time Protection function of your Anti-virus to play. If you do not want to completely disable the software, then you will have to add the .exe of Persona 5 Strikers on the Exceptions list of your AV Software.

And finally, if none of the fixes mentioned above work for you then there is no other choice but to re-install the game completely. We are still testing the game. More fixes on the way!

I would suggest that you take a look at the official Steam Discussions page of Persona 5 Strikers. You will find a lot of players discussing these exact same issues.
