NBA 2K21 – Game is Crashing – Is there a fix?
NBA 2K21 got released just a while ago and let’s just say that things are not going so good for the title. Players are complaining from day 1 that NBA 2K21 is nothing but NBA 2K20 with one or two changes on board. The game has got a whopping 1366 Negative reviews with just 294 Positive reviews so far on Steam. And everyone more or less are saying the same thing.
On top of that, the game has a handful of bugs and glitches. Players are also experiencing performance issues with the game. Its looks are constantly facing lag, stuttering and above all, crashes in the game.
This is actually a big issue as people who play NBA games, play them for the online PvP experience. Now imagine you suddenly crashing in the middle of a PvP match. I can only imagine how frustrated the players are getting. So is there a fix to this issue?
Is there a fix for the crashes?
Unfortunately, there isn’t. The game came out almost 2 days ago, and we don’t even know whether 2K even knows about this issue or not. It almost seems like they don’t really care. There are hundreds of posts popping up on the official Steam discussions page of NBA 2K21, and we haven’t seen a single developer comment on them.
Till now, I have probably seen people mentioning just two fixes and that’s it. But there is no confirmation whether these fixes work or not.
I saw one Steam user commenting on one of the posts, claiming that he managed to fix the issue by just setting the Graphics Quality to the lowest quality possible. If you want you can try that.
The other comment I saw was an user claiming that he managed to fix the crashing issue by just selecting his actual graphics card in the Nvidia Control Panel. Not really sure what he was trying to say but here is the link to the post. There is actually an option in Nvidia Control Panel that allows you to “Select the preferred graphics processor”. But that is exclusive to gaming laptops only.
It is really sad to see big developers like 2K releasing such unpolished AAA titles. And it is not even an upgrade in any way from the previous title. The graphics are the same, the game mechanics are same, everything is the same.
With that being said if the fixes mentioned by the users don’t end up working for you then I would recommend you to submit a ticket to the 2K Support. I am pretty sure they have thousands by now.
