A Gear Chest in Assassin’s Creed: Mirage is full of items and equipment that are, least to say, quite useful. There are a number of these Gear Chests spread all across Baghdad, and one of them can be found in Hammam. A Hammam in Arabic refers to a public Bathhouse, and there’s only one of those in AC: Mirage, located in the Abbasiyah District. Once you’ve entered the Abbasiyah District, look for a building that, upon moving close up, displays a Chest icon on your compass. Getting inside the building might be a walk in the park, but getting the items from the Chest isn’t, so buckle up!
The Chest’s Location
In this particular building, there aren’t any guards to stop you, which makes everything a whole lot easier, and in addition to that, there are no locks that you need to pick either. Just walk in from the main door and start to explore the building. Only one thing stops you from entering the room with the chest on the same level as the building’s entrance: the fact that the door is barred. Another thing that you can do is to circle to reach a weak stone wall.
To get through this wall, you’ll need some Oil Jars, which you won’t be able to find anywhere close by. If you activate Eagle Vision, you might see some of those nearby in the building. Getting to those from the outside might not be possible, but you can do the same if you’re inside.
How to get the Oil Jars in Hammam
Walk in from the building’s main entrance and ignore the inaccessible door; follow the wall to your left. Eventually, you’ll reach a door with no bar or lock, beyond which is a stone shelf. Look around here, and you’ll find some Oil Jars!
All you need to do now is grab one of those Oil jars and go through the Hammam back to the stone wall. Just throw one of those at the wall, but make sure that you don’t kill a civilian while you do so. Once you’ve managed to break the wall using those Oil Jars, walk into the room, and you’ll find a chest sitting right ahead. Open it to get rewarded with the Zanj Uprising Dagger or an upgrade for the schematic one.
This Dagger has some special abilities that are worth the effort. For instance, you’ll now be able to Second Wind, and the damage output will have increased, and when you manage to dodge an attack, you’ll witness a 10% increase in your stamina reserve.
