Cult of the Lamb has players take the role of a possessed lamb, saved from annihilation by an ominous stranger, and must repay their debt by building a loyal following in the stranger’s name.
Your cult could only possibly exist in the land of false prophets. You must venture out into diverse and mysterious regions to build your loyal community of followers. And, don’t be afraid to speak up about the truth and build your following.
Over 60,000 people are playing the game on Steam right now. It has been getting good reviews, too. But, with so many games, AAA or Indie, coming out on a regular basis, sometimes you can run into bugs and other glitches in the program. This is something that has become inevitable
Players who are trying to play the game now, are getting a barrage of bugs and errors. In this article, I am taking a look at an error or bug, that has to be one of the annoying ones. It is the “no sound” or “no audio” bug.
So what is up with this ‘no sound’ bug? Well, It is a bug that a lot of Cult of the Lamb players are currently experiencing in the PC version of the game. The bug is causing the game to go completely mute. You will see plenty of posts like this over the forums:
No SoundAnyone else with the problem, that the game doesnt have any sound?Anyone know how to fix?
How to fix the No Sound or Audio Bug in Cult of the Lamb
The good news is, that there is actually a fix present for this bug, and it has been proven to be working by multiple users. Here is what you need to do.
- Close Cult of the Lamb if you are running it at the moment
- Right-click on the sound icon in the bottom right of your screen
- Select ‘Sounds’
- Click on the ‘Playback’ tab
- Disable every single playback device that isn’t your headphones or speakers
- Start the game again, and you should get your sound back
Let me tell you what is happening here, this bug is mainly happening to people who got multiple devices plugged into their PC.
I had my PS5 controller plugged in and for some reason my system what counting it as a pair of headsets. So make sure that you have selected the accurate sound output.
A lot of people have already confirmed that this is a legit fix. Check out the comments:
Now, this fix should work for most people, but I did notice some comments, where some people have claimed that they had this fix wasn’t enough for them, and they had to take some extra steps. Check out this post from a Steam user:
Got it working. In case anyone else has the issue I had, here is how I fixed.
I had a device in playback I couldn’t disable called Digital Audio (S/PDIF). Since I use a USB headset, the audio was still failing.
I had to disable in BIOS to remove it from the Playback tab.
WARNING: This will disable the built in audio jacks on the motherboard.
Steps for my ASUS mobo:
Restart and enter BIOS > Enter advanced mode > Advanced tab > Change dropdown for HD Audio to disabled > Save and Exit
Now, I personally have not tried and will recommend that you touch your Bios setup only if you have experience. A wrong setting in your Bios can mess up your entire system. So be careful!
