Cyberpunk 2077 Download is Stuck for a lot of PC users
Cyberpunk 2077 has to be the most anticipated title of this entire decade. Ever since the trailer debuted almost seven years ago, the game has managed to create enormous amount of hype in the entire gaming community. And now that after so many delays, it is finally here, people are extremely excited.
But there is an issue. Apparently a lot of people who have bought Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam, are facing an issue where the download of the game is getting stuck after a certain point. No matter what they do, the installation bar is reluctant to move or make any sort of progress. People have been trying all types of things, like pausing and then resuming the download, restarting the download, restarting Steam, restarting their PC, etc. Unfortunately nothing seems to help. So is this some sort of a bug or glitch?
Is there a fix to this ‘download stuck’ issue?
Now I know that a majority of the people who are facing this issue are considering this a bug or an error. Actually the truth is, this is neither being caused by a bug, nor by a glitch. If you go right now and check the download folder of Steam. You will notice that there is nothing over there. So does that mean Steam has not downloaded the game at all? Well, Steam will actually download the installer file first. And once the downloading is completed the unpacking will take place.
When Steam is showing that the Cyberpunk 2077 download is stuck, that is not what actually is happening. The downloading part is already complete and it is unpacking the game instead to get it ready for installation. It is just that Steam does not provide any information when a game enters the installation phase. And then there are other installations like the C++ Redistributable and the latest DirectX.
The download size of Cyberpunk 2077 is a more than 70 GB on the PC platform. So all you have to do is wait for a while. The process is really fast on a SSD but HDD users would have to be a bit patient.
