Are you experiencing the Honor’s Hubris quest bug in AC Valhalla? Don’t worry, you are not alone.
Players are stuck at the Honor’s Hubris Quest in AC Valhalla
What is this bug all about?
AC Valhalla is filled with quests, big and small. And they are all are pretty different from each other. Quests in games like AC Valhalla do the job of educating players about the mechanics and the lore of the game. Without them a RPG title is incomplete.
But it looks like the ‘Honor’s Hubris’ quest is stopping a lot of people from progressing in the game. AC Valhalla has been out for almost a month now. The game has proven itself to be phenomenal and probably one of the best titles in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. But that doesn’t take away the fact that even after one month, the game is still infested with bugs and glitches.
News bugs keep on popping up almost everyday. It is almost like there is no end to this situation. The developers release patches, some bugs get fixed, but new ones appear.
But the Honor’s Hubris quest bug is not really new. It has been out there since the launch of AC Valhalla. And for some reason Ubisoft has not managed to fix it. A forum user with the name /SirBaard posted about this issue on the official Ubisoft forums almost 25 days ago. Here is a clear description about the bug :
In Son of Jorvic when I show up to the fist fight, the female main character is lying on the ground. I fight the men to get Halfgard’s forged documents. In the cut scene the girl comes back to life and talks to me. However, at the staging point for the final battle in Honor’s Hubris she’s lying on the ground in front of the troops. I assume she’s supposed to be leading them. The quest marker disappears and I cannot progress further to the final battle.
I have tried verifying my game files. Loading a previous save from before the fist fight of Son of Jorvic but she is always like that when I arrive to the fight. I have tried both online and offline.
I submitted a support ticket to Ubisoft but I’m wondering if anyone else has this same problem. I’ve even tried pledging to another location to get a new set of quests, but when I go back to that one it’s the same, she’s still down and I cannot finish the quest. I am playing on PC.
Is there a fix?
The post actually has a ton of comments from the Ubisoft Support Staff. But all I have seen so far, is them apologizing to the players as there is no fix yet. However, one user with the name /kL4tt3n has suggested a workaround. But I don’t think it is for everyone. Here is his assessment:
I’ve done some research and I think I’ve figured out why this happens. By some miracle of God or something, I happened to have a save in Sussex right before doing all the allied prerequisite quests for storming the keep to save Sigurd. The problem happens here. If Ljufvina gets knocked down during the quest “Arrive Unexpected”, where you join her and Stoke retaking a camp from enemy soldiers (she gets knocked a lot), and you DON’T resurrect her before the fighting is over, she stays down for the rest of the game. I’ve reloaded that save (lost 12 hours of progress – yay!) and just made it back to Honor’s Hubris, where everything progressed as normal. So if you do happen to have a manual save around that time, you can get “past” this if you’re willing to put in the time.
Some of the users were quick to notice this workaround. They went ahead and gave it a try. And guess what? They managed to bypass this bug!
But I can understand, not everyone is willing to put the effort to do things all over again. At one point, things like these do make games feel like a chore, I won’t lie. It looks like players have no other choice but to wait for the extremely “efficient” developers of AC Valhalla to release a patch. And when is that going to happen? I don’t think even Ubisoft could answer that.
That’s all folks!
