Early on, one of the best ones you can get your hands on is the Crossbow. It’s silent, and you do not need to worry about ammunition as you can always retrieve the arrow from your dead enemy. Locating it isn’t too hard either; you must know where to look. Keep reading as we cover just the same.
Crossbow location in Alan Wake 2
The crossbow can be found in a stash box at a target practice range in the Watery Area. Refer to the attached map to make things easier and visit the exact location. You won’t need to revisit the place if you’re here for the first time, but you might need to take a slight detour as you finish your business in this area.
Once you’ve reached this location, there’s a puzzle for you to solve, but don’t worry about it, as I’ve done it for you already. See, there are numbers on the stashes, and some of them have an arrow in them. You don’t need to worry about the ones that don’t, and there’ll specifically be three numbers with arrows in them- 5, 2, and 7. That’s your passcode to open the stash with the Crossbow- 527. It was quite easy to figure out this particular combination from the numbers as the number 5 had only one arrow in it, the number 2 had two of them, and lastly, 7 had three. Now you know!
Now, all that remains is for you to open up the stash and grab what’s now yours. It’s quite surprising, though, that the crossbow has a decent long-range, given the fact that in a lot of other games, this is often compromised for some short-range damage output. One drawback with the crossbow, though, is that you’ve only got one arrow in the chamber, meaning you’ll need to reload after every shot, so it’s better to use it as a sniper rifle than something that you could always run around within your hands. Nevertheless, it’s a really good weapon to have!
