AC Valhalla The Prodigal Prince quest bug – It looks like a quest called ‘The Prodigal Prince‘ is getting bugged for a lot of players in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Is there a fix? Lets find out.

What is this bug all about?
AC Valhalla is filled with quests, big and small. And they are all are pretty different from each other. Quests in games like AC Valhalla do the job of educating players about the mechanics and the lore of the game. Without them a RPG title is incomplete.
But it looks like a the ‘The Prodigal Prince’ quest is stopping a lot of people from progressing in the game. There already a ton of post regarding this on the Ubisoft Forums. Here is what the Forum users, who posted about this bug have to say:
After receiving the hidden blade and doing the “training” I’m supposed to follow Sigurd to the docks. He will walk to the end of the dock and not say anything, I don’t have a prompt to speak and nothing progresses the quest. I’ve tried reloading prior saves, closing and opening the game etc. I seem to be stuck in this quest and I can’t proceed.
The post got a lot of replies from other users who are experiencing something similar. Here is one of them:
I am also getting this bug and it’s completely game breaking. 2 hours in and I can’t go any further in the story. That is terrible.
How to fix this bug?
The good news is there is a fix for this bug, and the bad news is, it isn’t working for everybody. The first fix has been recommended by forum user Nonstop2008. He was having the exact same issue:
I have loaded the mission from the start, you have to see the king and listen to Sigurd story. After that, I could complete the mission.
On the same post user ZAKR13L posted another fix, here is what he recommends:
I got it to work, sadly, by starting a new save file and skipping all side content and just going through the main story. Got dialogue in other parts of my game in which I didn’t have before. Dunno, hopefully it doesn’t die again. When the game is working, its a lot of fun. Sadly that isn’t happening a lot.
And the final fix has been recommended by user LetoThule, here is what he has to say:
So, I have the same problem.
I was able to get it working.
I noticed the game tries to autosave like every 20 seconds while doing this “hidden blade” training quest.
Start over from before the part where you walk down to the field. Before you get there, erase all your autosaves from the load screen. During the training, open your load screen and purge the autosaves every few seconds. It’s annoying, but it worked for me after several attempts at just reloading.
Not sure if this will help everyone else, but it worked for me.
