Persona 5 Strikers is showing a message to many users that says, “This game is not available on your current operating system”
What is this bug all about
Persona 5 Strikers is finally here, and it seems to be doing fairly well across all the platforms. Of course, this is not how Persona games normally are. But the majority of the Persona fans are liking this change and that is what that matters.
Things might not be the smoothest for the PC version of P5S though. Many PC users who bought P5S on Steam are getting an error message that says ‘This game is not available on your current operating system‘.
Now Persona 5 Strikers is not supported on Windows 7. So it would have made sense if the message was being shown to Win 7 users only. Unfortunately, that is not the case here. Windows 10 users and Windows 8.1 users are also experiencing this bug.
So now the question is, is there a fix?
How to fix
Let me start by saying that I was experiencing this issue on my PC as well. And I was using Windows 10 64-bit only. You see, I did a fresh Windows 10 installation on my PC a few days ago. Since I already had a Windows 10 bootable USB drive, I decided to use it instead of downloading the latest version. It was Windows 10 64-bit Version 1909. So I was using a really old version of Windows 10, until I installed Persona 5 Strikers and got the ‘game is not available’ message.
So, I decided to check for updates. The entire process of checking, download and then installing took a while. But finally I managed to upgrade my Windows 10 to Version 20H2. Here is the version and build I am using now:
Updating my Windows 10 to the latest version completely fixed the issue. So if you are using an old version of Windows, try updating it.
Now, if you are experiencing this bug despite having Windows 10 Version 20H2. Then just head over to the installation directory of Persona 5 Strikers. Right-click on P5S.exe and run it as admin.
