In the game, you would be needing a lot of materials to upgrade, so as to level up all of your equipment and gear.
This is not only for Kratos, but you would also be doing this for Atreus. So during your whole journey, the one item that you would get dependent upon would be Bonded Leather.

How to get Bonded Leather in God of War Ragnarok
Being one of the rarer materials in the game, here are all the places where you can find Bonded Leather in the game!
You can often simply obtain the valuable items by defeating the enemies and by opening chests. This is also applicable to Bonded Leather.
If, on a specific enemy, you want to zone in, then the best bet would be to take down the mini-bosses. Defeating the mini-bosses would drop you a handful of the items.
Apart from killing the Mini-bosses, another thing that you can try is exploring the hidden areas in the game. These areas have many valuable items trapped inside the chests, waiting for you to collect them.
To unlock these areas, you will need to pick up “Favours” that will lead you to explore off the map. “Favours” are nothing but side quests. You can track them, by visiting your ‘Goal’ menu.
You must actively look out for the Red Chests in the game. On a plus side, sometimes you can find Bonded Leather in coffins and tombs too.
Additionally, you can find Bonded Leather by traveling to the Svartalfheim and then crossing the lake, where you will occasionally find Bonded Leather on the water, floating. You can pick them up by taking the help of Atreus.
At the time of my writing this article, I am not seen Sindri and Brok setting Bonded Leather. So I am not sure whether they do at all, or not.
