Assassin’s Creed (AC) Valhalla – How to change Language

AC Valhalla is out and people have been enjoying the game thoroughly so far. The game does have some performance issues and some bugs. But at this point of time, it is expected from every AAA launch.

With that being said, it looks like a lot of people are wondering whether there is a way to change the language in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla or not. And by that they mean both the voice and the text. Good news is, you can. It is fairly simple in fact.

How to change the language

The good thing is the game automatically provides settings that allow you to set the language of your choice at the very beginning. In case you have missed it, here is how to change the language:

  1. Launch Ubisoft Connect
  2. Go to you Library and click on AC Valhalla
  3. Select Properties from the left side
  4. Under General there is the “Set the desired language for this game” setting
AC Valhalla change language - ubisoft connect
  5. Set it to the language of your choice

Launch Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and this is what you have to do now:

  1. Open Game Settings
  2. Click on the Interface tab
  3. Under General you should see the “Interface Language” setting
AC Valhalla change language - Interface
  4. Set it to the language of your choice
  5. Now click on the Sound tab
  6. Under General you should see the “Voice Language” setting
AC Valhalla change language - Voice
  7. Set it to the language of your choice
  8. Scroll down to “Subtitles & Closed Captions” section
  9. Change the language to the language of your choice

And that is all you need to do.

Language stuck at Russian

Now if you are here for the fix to the “language bug” in AC Valhalla, where the in-game language is stuck at Russian. Then let me tell you, nobody has been able to figure out a fix for that yet. If you go to this post on the Ubisoft forum for AC Valhalla, you will see how many people are actually experiencing this bug. You will find comments from the developers too.

It looks like you have no other choice but to wait for a proper patch from the developers. There is no workaround for this issue yet. Watch Dogs Legion has a similar problem. It has been more than 10 days since the game launched and the issue is still there. If you do not want to wait, then I would suggest that you get a refund.
