What is Blood Moon in V Rising

Blood Moon V Rising – Stunlock Studios’ released their brand-new title V Rising, on May 17th, 2022. It’s a survival game that sets players in the shoes of the vampire who’s ready to reconstruct his/her kingdom.

You start your journey as a weak vampire and through lots of building, hunting, and conquering, you climb your way up to the top level of the hierarchy.

You can choose to explore the massive open-world solo or with your friend in the co-op mode. Pillage villages, raid camps, force your way to the different territories. Do whatever you have to, to grow.

V Rising came out just a few days ago, and even in its Early Access, the game is doing exceptionally well. It has already around 70k concurrent players, and the count is only increasing every minute. It has already gotten 4000+ reviews on Steam, among which 90% are positive ones. This means, we can safely say, that the game is already a hit.

Coming back to the main topic. Just like the real world the world of V Rising also has Day and Night Cycles. Being a Vampire, you are supposed to void hunting during the Daytime, and during the nighttime is when you come alive. But between these two cycles, there is another time period called the “Blood Moon”. Let’s check out what it is.

What is Blood Moon in V Rising

Just like the Day and Night cycle, Blood Moon is also a time cycle in V Rising, that occurs pretty rarely. The nighttime, which occurs at 6 PM and stays till 9 AM, simply gets replaced by Blood Moon.

During Blood Moon, the world in V Rising gets painted with a Red tint, and your character also starts glowing red. But that’s not all. Blood Moon is the best time in the game to take on powerful bosses, as your character received the “Blood Moon” buff.

The Blood Moon buff boosts the effects of your current blood type by 20% and increases your Movement Speed by 10%. In your wolf form, you move extremely fast during Blood Moon. Also, all the damage perks of your blood type get a nice buff of 20%.

So, if there is a boss that you are struggling to beat, and Blood Moon arrives. I would recommend you give that boss another try. The extra damage is extremely useful, trust me.

I was having a hard time beating Rufus the Foreman. But luckily I got Blood Moon just during my second try. And I managed to beat him with ease.

Now, I am not sure how often the Blood Moon occurs. But from what I have experienced after playing the game for 11 hours, I got it only thrice.
