Titan Storm Grenade Build – Destiny 2

This guide will provide you will all the details regarding the Storm Grenade build for the Titan Class. Which, in my opinion, is one of the best builds you can rock this season. Once you are done reading this article, you will get a clear idea about how viable the build is and the stuff you need to achieve the Storm Grenade build. So without further ado, let’s take a look at the Build.

Titan Storm Grenade Build - Destiny 2

Titan Storm Grenade Build – Destiny 2

Super Ability: Thundercrash

Thundercrash is undoubtedly the best Arc Super in the game. The high damage output of this Super is extremely viable in front of Bosses and Champions.

Class Ability: Thruster

We need the Class Ability with the lowest Cooldown time. With this build, you will be constantly moving, so no place for Barricades here.

Jump or Movement Ability: Strafe Lift

You can choose whatever you are comfortable with, here. I personally use Strafe Lift.

Arc Melee: Thunderclap

With this build, you need a Melee that you can use very easily, as your melee ability will actually be a source of healing for you. For the other 2 Melee Abilities, you need to sprint and build momentum in order for them to work. Which might prove to be problematic in some situations.

Arc Grenade: Storm Grenade

Probably, one of the best Grenades out there, when it comes to damage output. The damage on this is quite on par with the Warlock Solar Fusion Grenades, but Storm Grenades last longer, and deal more damage overall. This is the MVP of this build.

Aspect Slot 1: Touch of Thunder

With the help of Touch of Thunder, your Storm Grenades become extremely lethal. The grenade, after detonating, creates a roaming thundercloud that tracks nearby targets and fires bolts of lightning at foes beneath it.

Aspect Slot 2: Knockout

This Aspect is only there so that you can trigger health regeneration with your Melee ability. Also, the remaining Aspect is absolutely useless in PvE.

Fragment Slot 1: Spark of Magnitude

To increase the duration of your Storm Grenade. You Storm Grenades will linger for a longer period. Hence, will deal more damage in the process.

Fragment Slot 2: Spark of Shock

This will help your Grenades Jolt targets, and chain Arc damage to all nearby targets.

Fragment Slot 3: Spark of Ions

Since you will be Jolting your Targets with your Grenades, you will get Ionic Traces after you defeat them. The Ionic Traces will boost your ability regen.

Fragment Slot 4: Spark of Resistance

Pretty self-explanatory. You will take less damage when you are surrounded by multiple combatants. This Fragment, paired with Riskrunner, could help you tank a lot of Arc damage coming from the enemies.

Kinetic Weapon Slot

Whatever weapon the activity demands.

Energy Weapon Slot

Riskrunner, since most of the GM Nightfalls this season have Arc Burn.

Power Weapon Slot

Any Linear Fusion Rifle. I use Taipan, Reed’s Regret, and Stormchaser.

Helmet

  • Any Legendary Helmet with Solar Affinity.
  • Mods: 1x Resilience Mode (Level 1), 1x Ashes to Assets, 1x Ammo finder, Explosive Wellmaker.

Helmet Mods required for Titan Storm Grenade Build

The Explosive Wellmaker will allow you to spawn Solar Wells with your Storm Grenade, and the Solar Wells are another source of your healing with this build.

Gauntlets

  • Any pair of Legendary Gauntlet with Void Affinity.
  • Mods: 1x Discipline Mod (Level 3), 1x Champion Mod, 1x Bolstering Detonation, and Elemental Ordnance.

Gauntlet Mods required for Titan Storm Grenade Build

Elemental Ordnance will help you generate wells with your Storm Grenades. Bolstering Detonation will grant you class ability when you deal damage with your Grenades. Which allows you to spam your Class ability. This mod synergizes really well with the Exotic of this build.

Chest Armor

  • Heart Of Inmost Light Exotic with Solar Affinity
  • Mods: Discipline Mod (Level 3), 2x Thermoshock Plating (Available from the Artifact), Bountiful Wells.

Chest Mods required for Titan Storm Grenade Build

Heart Of Inmost Light is needed to make this build work. You will have to constantly spam your abilities to “Empower” them and reduce their cooldown. So start by throwing your Grenade, and immediately pop your Class Ability and Melee. As soon as you use one ability, your other two abilities will get the “Empowered”. As a result, they will deal more damage and refill faster. For example, if you use your Thruster, your Melee and Grenade will become “Empowered”. They will deal more damage and their cooldown will also get reduced.

You need Bountiful Wells to spawn an increased amount of wells. You will be spawning 2 copies of both Arc and Solar Wells. More wells mean more Healing and Ability recharge.

Leg Armor

  • Any Legendary Leg Armor with Arc Affinity
  • Mods: Resilience Mod (Level 3), Scavenger Mod for your Heavy or Special Weapon, Seeking Wells, Invigoration (not mandatory)

Leg Armor Mods required for Titan Storm Grenade Build

Seeking Wells is needed because your Storm Grenades will be lingering and eliminating enemies that are at the distance, and will spawn wells at different spots. Now, it is not possible for you to rush and pick every well. This where Seeking Wells come into play.

Titan Mark

  • Any Legendary Titan Mark with Solar Affinity
  • Mods: Discipline Mod (Level 3), 2x Bomber / 1x Bomber and 1x Surge Detonators (Artifact Mod), Well of Life

Mark Mods required for Titan Storm Grenade Build

The Bomber mod will reduce your Grenade Cooldown when you use your Class Ability. Surge Detonators will help you stun Overload Champions. Well of Life will heal you when you pick up a Solar Well.

Stats that your Armor should be focused on

  • Resilience: Tier 10
  • Discipline: Tier 10

100 Resilience will give you an extra 40% damage reduction, and 100 Discipline will reduce the cooldown of your Storm Grenade by a great margin.
