This is a journey of a stray cat who fell into this cruel world populated by machines, robots, and viruses to get back to its family. The game features an open-world third-person adventure experience by focusing more on the exploration and atmosphere elements in the game.
Two of the most common technical items that one might need to look for while playing the game are Save and Configuration files. However, finding these files is not an easy task and one has to have a good knowledge of navigating PC drives to locate them.
Config files are one of those files where you can edit variables to ensure game changes are not accessible from the in-game settings. On the other hand, save files keeps your game data and progress stored in a particular file format. If you lose your save game progress, and you don’t have your cloud saves on, then you can download a new save game file for stray and paste it into the save folder to continue your quest.

Stray Save File Location
The Stray Savegame location is “Local Disk (C:)>Users>”Your Username”>AppData>Local>Hk_project>Saved>SaveGames”.
This is how you can find the save file in Stray.
- Click on the My PC icon on your desktop.
- Once it opens, double-click on the Local Disk C Drive.
- Click on the Users folder and again click on the folder that shows the PC name, i.e. your name
- Once a list of folders comes up, double click Appdata.
- Inside Appdata, you will find a folder called Local
- Look for the folder “Hk_project” and double-click to open it.
- You will find a folder named Saved.
- Inside the folder, you will find three folders. Click on the SaveGames folder to access the Save File in Stray.
- You can download saved games if you lose your current progress and don’t have the Steam Cloud Save on.
Stray Config File Location
The Stray Config location is “Local Disk (C:)>Users>”Your Username”>AppData>Local>Hk_project>Saved>Config>WindowsNoEditor”.
