Stray Best Graphics Settings to Fix Stuttering and FPS Drops

Stray is a highly anticipated game Single player game we have been waiting for a long time. The game was developed by the BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive.

This is a journey of a stray cat who fell into this cruel world populated by machines, robots, and viruses to get back to its family. The game features an open-world third-person adventure experience by focusing more on the exploration and atmosphere elements in the game. You can control the cat, solve puzzles, cross obstacles, and traverse various platforms.

After a particular stage in the game, you will get a Drone called B12, which will help you store food items and will help you translate the robot language. You will face enemies known as Zurks, and keep in mind that these enemies attack in swarms.

The latest Steam Hardware Survey shows that most gamers are still gaming on older graphics cards like the GTX 1050Ti, GTX 1650, GTX 1060, etc. Because of the GPU price inflation in recent years due to mining activity, gamers could not get their hands on GPUs due to a lack of stock in the market, or the price is so inflated that an average gamer can’t afford it. But thankfully, the GPU price inflation is more or less over now, and things have started becoming normal. And also, the news of incoming graphics cards and processors has kept gamers from buying new hardware for their PC until the new one comes out.

Stray is a beautiful cat game and received positive reviews globally. You should try out this title, and this is why I decided to make the best Graphics Settings to fix stuttering and the significant performance issues catered towards gamers with low-medium end gaming rigs.

Stray Graphics Settings

Here are our recommended graphics settings to fix fps drops and stutter in Stray for low-end gaming rigs.

  • Fullscreen – On [Always keep it on to make the best use of your Gaming Hardware]
  • Resolution – 2560×1440 [This is my native resolution, you have to set your native monitor resolution and not lower than that to prevent blurry low-resolution images]
  • Resolution Scale – 100% [Keep this as it is]
  • V-Sync – Off [Always turn it off as it affects performance]
  • Motion Blur – 0 [It’s my personal preference, but you can increase it if you want]
  • Sharpness – Medium [I kept it that way, but you can increase or lower it down if you want]
  • Effects Quality – Medium [Keep it medium to enjoy the Cybercity, especially during the nighttime]
  • Shadow Quality – Low [Low Shadow quality yields better performance]
  • Mesh Quality – Medium [Keep it medium and try out the game. If it still stutters, lower the settings down]

advanced graphics settings for stray

I own a GTX 1080, and I get 100+ FPS in Stray without a hitch with an older Intel Core i7 7700 and 16GB DDR4 RAM. Try out these settings, and you might hit the sweet 60FPS spot. Install the game on an SSD because the game is less than 6 GB, which will speed up your loading time and might also fix the stuttering issue in Stray.
