As you start your journey in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll eventually have to acquire armor as a starter, the best armor set to acquire in this scenario would be the Royal Guard Armor set.
Just like the Frostbite armor set, the Royal Guard Armor set is split up into the realm of Hyrule, and you’ll be required to find different parts of the armor set individually. How to get Royal Guard Armor Set in Zelda TOTK
First, you’ll be able to find the armor set inside Hyrule Castle, which is at the center of the map. The easiest way to get there would be to use the Lookout Skyview Tower and paraglide down to the castle. Once you’re at the castle, you’ll be required to acquire the three armor pieces, as mentioned earlier. Here are the whereabouts of the armor pieces:
The Royal Guard Cap
The Royal Guard’s cap can be found inside the castle, specifically in Princess Zelda’s room. The room will be located around the first basement floor on B1. The fastest way to make it to this location would be to glide down to the west side of the dungeon, specifically to the rocky side of it, and then look for stairs around you. Once you find them, make your way up from them, and they’ll eventually lead you to a room.
Once you enter this room, you’ll be able to find a chest towards the left side of the entrance, precisely behind the wooden curtain. Open the chest, and you’ll find the Royal Guard’s Cap.
The Royal Guard Boots
Inside the Hyrule castle, you’ll also be able to find the Royal Guard Boots; these can be found specifically at the Library, on the third basement floor. If you’re standing in the princess’ room, the best way to make it to the Library would be to glide to the north, around the floating castle, and fly into the window next to the Library. The Library won’t be guarded heavily, but we recommend that you take some stamina-boosting foods with you or take breaks as you make your way there to save some energy.
Once you arrive here, look towards the right of the entrance you came in through and head forward, you’ll see several bookcases next to a staircase. Now, use your Ultrahand ability on the bookcase, which pulls one out, and then you’ll be able to find the Royal Guard Boots inside the Bookcase.
The Royal Guard Uniform
The final part of the set, the Royal Guard Uniform, can be found in the exteriors of the Castle of Hyrule. Go outside the castle and walk towards the south until you reach the first gatehouse. Once you have, proceed further to your southwest. You’ll need to reach an entrance from here onwards. Some wooden doors block that. Use your ultra-hand ability here to move them and head inside.
Once you’ve entered the guardhouse, proceed to your left and another turn left from the staircase. Head forward until you find yourself in a room full of Gloom and have the ascent ability ready, as you’ll need it to fly upwards, where you’ll find a chest. Open the chest, and you’ll find the Royal Guard’s Uniform.
